BTW, Simonpro, I also have heard Future Sound of London. The cool thing about internet radio is that you hear all kinds of odd stuff you'd never get on the crappy Borg FM radio stations.

Here's a couple more I forgot to add to my last post.
Frank Comstock's Music From Outer Space is a classic (1962) album, perhaps the first real entry in the space music genre. I'm sure it's the inspiration for the background music from the original Star Trek series. I think it's a legal download 'cause it's out of print.

How cow, Willy88, I saw that video when it was new! Man, it really makes you miss the ole' Columbia.
And heck, Tex would have his work cut out for him trying to beat a Rush video.
Urwumpe: those two vids you posted are cool. The first one with the Pirates footage is a good video, the music really fits. The second one, well, I don't remember a Heavy Metal series, only the movie, but that song sounds very Scorion-ish.

How could I have forgotten The Dave Brubeck Quartet? Watch, listen, and be amazed at the best the Cold War West had to offer.

The perfect instrumental soundtrack for gazing into the Horrible, Frigid Abyss - Real "You will never be able to get home...You will be lost forever" music. Listen to this in the Outer Solar System and you will wet yourself a little. Brrr.
Iron & Wine - "Upward Over the Mountain" You might drift, dead, through nothingness for all eternity, but it's alright... At least according to the mood of this song. If anyone ever made an Orbiter-syle realistic space combat game, this is what I would want playing over the end credits, after you sacrifice yourself to stop the villain and don't have enough dV to stop, showing you drifting through interstellar space forever, intercut with people on Earth and its colonies rebuilding their lives, and hope returning to the Sol System.

"American Pie" by Don McLean. Nice, feel-good tune during launch and orbital cruise.
"Click Click Boom" by Saliva. Great jam for launch and reentry.
"Return to Innocence" by Enigma. Lovely to listen to during Moon or interplanetary cruises.
Next is an instrumental piece by Janet Jackson I don't know the name of.
"Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai.
"Beloved" by VNV Nation. Now that makes some good space music, especially at the beginning.

While I'm a metal-head at heart, I do listen to just about every kind of music there is, and find that anything too amped just doesn't work for space. Partly it's because of the stock "Air on a G-String" (isn't that a stripper farting or something? :lol: couldn't resist), partly because there is so much other stuff I've heard before that has a spacy feel to it, I guess.
I have it set to auto shuffle every time, and kept the stock track, plus added -
