Im not really sure it exists. But I cant find it anywhere. Im using orbiter 2010 and ive got nice looking scenery,s ships and scenarios and other lucrative addons. but one thing is missing which i had running orulex on 2006 pretty nicely. Orulex land generater which auto generated 3d mountains and scenery objects within 1000km of any surface. I also had orulex collision detector installed. On orbiter 2010 however theres not a download of such sort ready yet. Orulex doesnt work in orbiter 2010 at all. I even tried A clean install of it with UMMU and UGCO but it wont work. Im guessing its just not compatible with 2010 and based upon the mathematical physics of orulex im not really surprized it doesnt work. But if it does please tell me how to do so.

If somebody knows a working lang generator for orbiter 2010 please share. If not id suggest it as a future mod. THe graphics and resolution meshes of 2010 are so creepingly nice, the only missing part is the land generator.

Thanks for listening.

Thanks for reading.
FTFY.

(Sorry, had to do it :P)

Anyway, you might want to take a look at [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4601"]OrbiterProcTer 0.1.0[/ame]. I don't know if it works though.

Well, I had sort of had Orulex working in Orbiter 2010. I'd see a post that it didn't work so of course I tried it anyway, in a clean installatoin and it seemed to work, at least as far as World Studio. And it seems to work with the Deltaglider, "Brighton Beach" scenario(outside view and zooming out, looking around). So, I went back to my 'working' install to continue my scenario(loaded LongShot, 2XR5s, 2DGIVs, transfering from Celestium Station to lunar orbit.
Nearing LOI I stopped to save the scenario and activate Orulex and went back in. At 400k altitude Orulex pre comp goes fine until I turn view towards the moon and then it CTDs. So, on a whim, I deactivated the modules trackIR, LuaMFD, LuaScript and LuaConsole and tried again and it actually worked, for about an orbit, til I switched to ouside view and looked toward the moon. Here's the Orbiter Log:

Hope I did the brackets right? :)

P.S. I'm pretty sure that the Obsolete API function warning was there BEFORE I added Orulex to my 'working' install.

:hail::probe:

Orulex doesnt support 2010 you have to use ogla for terrain.

I get that impression, yes. But, every time I look at the DL page for Ogla client, and read the associated thread, it makes me want to run away and hide.:) :leaving:

Well, if it really scares you that much, here is the post with the most current version.

Chances are it won't work properly for you, though. It's very beta right now.

You must learn to read! :)

Well, first off, I'm a bit uncertain as to what it actually IS. It does appear to be complicated. And although I notice shadows in the screenshots, I don't really see anything about terrain. A reference to Orulex;

-----------
Known bugs and planned features (as of 100608-bis):
-Lightweight Lv9+ planet rendering (non-Orulex)
-Make Z-layer of Orulex a layer, not whole thing once again
-----------

..the first of which I assumed to be textures rather than terrain, and, frankly, I just noticed the second line, though I've no idea what it means.

I did DL the two zipfiles from sourceforge.

Ah. Thanks, Izack! I got the new one. I'll give it a try when I've some time. I don't get all that much time 'flying the sim' so I tend to shy away from things that threaten to reduce actual simtime. But I'll give it a try. :)

Oh yeah. Ogla is awfully beta. :) Guess I'll just have to go without terrain. Or go back to 060929 and do without being able to transfer crews, which I could never get to work in 2006 version.
A shame since, aside from the lunar and martian maps, 2010 edition is SWEET, particularly the exponential stars. Try as I might, I can't get the 2006 stars to look nearly as nice.

Well, Orulex on 2006 is just as beta as OGLAClient on 2010.

I have got Orulex workin on orbiter 2010. don't know how though.:shifty:

you do realise it's like you've accidentaly found the holy graal, right :lol:

any chance you could give us some clues on how you may have done it?

So... someone do want to see Orulex in Orbiter 2010?

It's not that hard really, porting it over the only bug i see is some kind of race condition somewhere.
The World Studio is a total bust, since neither sources nor WorldWind servers survived the years, but the terrain thing itself is working.

To do?

I'd say yes, but that's just because I get an awful framerate with OGLA. ;)

And what makes you think you would get anything better with intrinsically slower thing?

Anyway, you can try a work-in-progress version from here:
http://orbides.1gb.ru/orbf/orulex-100720-O2010-alpha.zip

No changing planets, textures should look a bit edgy, and there could be some blinking. Work in progress.

Should be compatible with all the stuff from Orulex 1.2.0, except that the random planet generator is gone.

very awesome Artlav!

i too don't use OGLA (mostly because of visual glitches and strange looking MFDs and HUD) so having this working on stock graphics is a most welcome treat!

cheers! keep it up!

Orulex works, but there are issues. As soon as the module is activated on the launchpad, it makes Orbiter "lag". The loading time is very long, and once in game, the framerate is quite random, even when the camera doesn't move (10-35 FPS). Else than that, it looks great !

AMD Athlon 64, that you say you have in your profile, is a single-core CPU. That and the general incompleteness of the port makes it that way.

Btw, what exactly were the problems with Orulex in O2010 in the first place?
I never had any with 1.2.0.
