New Virtual Space Agency!

See look, right now our primary goal is to create a Space station in LEO,
Im making a list of what we are going to do, right now i got exams but ill post the mission list at around 30th march when it will be ready.

Right now (our verry looooonng term) goals are:
-create a space station in LEO.
-After the station is complete and operation we will do flights to the moon.(we can dock to the space station if youn want, weve not decided upon an inclination for the space station yet)
-Then we will create a permenant base on the moon.
-Off to mars!(also probably going to create a station in orbit of mars)
-and of to europa(with a jupiter space station)
-and titan.

you can see how vague it becomes towards the ending(and its even vague at the start), weve just created this VSA recently, and i dont think flights should start until the website is fully operational.

Also:
Whenever Pilots finish thier missions, they have to report to thier respective division director, the division director can inforn me(deputy director) about the flight and how it was done, weather it was a success of failure, fuel spent, time taken...(blah blah blah)

Wait, you've heard about the Mission Control software, right? And the new forums?

Also, I've been talking with the Director of Manned Spaceflight about having a mission sometime soon, just to put the first space station module up there.

alright, but the site is not ready, we cant just launch into missions straight away, we need to plan them.

Also, who is going to fly the missions, only 2 people have applied to the astronaut position so far, and we need to list them in the site, and many pages are still under construction or not available.

We can first make the site fully, then get ready, plan the entire station before we just send a module up, plan how is looks, how it works.(i have no experience about this except fot the OFSS II)
We need to have a list of what addons to use, right now i think the main ones are:

Shuttle Fleet 4.7:[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5038"]http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5038[/ame]

Various Space Station modules:[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2857"]http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2857[/ame]

Multi purpouse Logistics Module:[ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3619"]http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3619[/ame]

STS-expansion pack 4.3.0:[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3777"]http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3777[/ame]

Since OFSS II is also aboubt create an LEO station, it will be using around the same addons, list can be found here:http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=19816&highlight=OFSS

Eric, can you change the post colour in the VOSSA forums, we cant see it properly.

Nazban is right. Planning is the key here. If all goes well we could aunch at the end of march or the beginning of april.

I have to be honest.

I've looked at your website, and it seems largely unfinished to me, i.e. textures overlapping, some pages don't even work.
As someone pointed out you guys didn't have any goals posted until just recently, and I don't see any kind of membership/staff structure already worked out.
Yet you guys have not one, but two threads actively trying to recruit people on top of someone sending me a PM soliciting me to join your group.

Pretty aggressive when, I'm sorry to say, this looks largely unorganized and thrown together.
Not trying to put down what you're doing, just giving honest feedback from the perspective of someone that's been around the PR block a few times.

no idea about a pm here, but like i said earlier, we are just newly formed, we are not going to fly flights until around end march-start of april.
Right now the site just has to be finished, and i am also starting to plan the building of the LEO station.

And to all people in the VSA, please dont PM people asking them to join, it wont look good to the VSA(as Halycon pointed out)

Don't forget we only have one webmaster and are only a few days old. Things come in time.

I want everyone who has been soliciting to stop immediately. I am sorry for any trouble we have caused by this.

Also, the website isn't finished yet. What overlapping textures? I've viewed it at 1280x1024 and 1024x768 and there are no textures overlapping. Maybe your talking about the logo in the background. That is intentional.

The structure can be seen by going to Administration->Staff on our website.

Thanks for helping us.

Coming from my experience with trying to start a VSA, I cannot stress enough having a good management structure. Right now, it seems to me that all of the current positions could easily be done by one competent manager. Why split up the tasks when they can be accomplished by one individual. One of the main flaws that almost every VSA makes is that they over distribute positions. You want to direct satellites? Great, you're the Satellite Director. You want to train new pilots? Great, you're the director of admissions. I'm not saying that the positions you guys have will not be needed in the future, but, from the looks of it many are not currently essential. Why have a director of manned spaceflight when you have yet to schedule the first mission? I suggest a reorganization of management if you want an efficient system.

Also, if you are so inclined, you can dig back through my blogs to see my updates on a VSA i was doing, and possibly to avoid the pitfalls that I made.

Thanks for the advise! I'll just have to look at the blog.

Also, our first mission is in the works. It'll happen soon (mostly likely this week or next week; however, someone else suggested late this month).

We are not going to go into that much detail, Right now there are only 3 of us(and i think it could be better with few of us, i agree with you on that matter)
and thanks, im going through the blogs now

im not sure about unmanned mission directors only, what is the actual difference between manned and unmanned in a space flight simulator? always someone will be controlling it and with 2 directors for differecnt types of flight, it will get to fragmented(thanks fireballs619 for the notice!), so i think we should drop that, Mission control post can remain open still.

And I think you're wrong. If at least just merge it together for the department of "spaceflight'

Actually, we have four of us who I've heard from (you, me, Eli13, and Ky). Others have been approved, I just haven't heard from them yet.

uhhh on the site, is there is list of pilots and crew we can add, cause we had 2 people who wanted to join, both can join, and eric, can you create a page for a list of pilots there, also we can make that a crew assignment page for each mission.

That would be nice. Our first flight is to be named STS-200. We are adopting a STS-2xx naming system.
