News Cannibal attack in Miami (potentially sensitive content)

I woke up to this on Friday I think it was.

From a local perspective, we had our annual Urban Week festival down here. It's a hip-hop urban scene thing that draws tourists and whatnot. What it also inherently draws out is drug suppliers and their addicts. I've had a few sources tell me that this behavior has been recorded with PCP; friends take PCP, in their state, one starts eating another's face. Once the high wears off, they become violently ill.

According to the news, this is a new strain of PCP, not surprisingly, it's a much more potent version of the drug. The autopsy claims that his organs were beginning to shut down. It's an unfortunate occurrence, and my sympathies go to the victim, but the attacker was feral. His brain was likely so fried he (and his body) probably didn't even realize it was getting shot.

Urban Week always brings some sort of chisme with it. Last year, it was a guy taking potshots at passerbys, and then getting lit up by police; this year it's zombies, and I'm having to calm my idiot friends down that a zombie apocalypse isn't happening. They oughta just get rid of the festival altogether.

@Keatah: Wasn't expecting that image without warning. Didn't need to see that.... Mind adding a warning there?
That's quite a lack of face.

What's wrong with people lately?!

This reminds me of the story of the chimpanzee that severely mauled it's owner's friend.

It seems that humans, when under the influence of particular substances, are physically capable of similar acts as other great apes.

You won't believe me... But this night, in the town of Montauban, 40 kilometers north of Toulouse, a 31-years-old drunk homeless started a brawl and eat the right ear of one of his opponents. :shifty:

He was arrested and jailed by police.

Yeah, no surprise I had the munchies yesterday evening and emptied my fridge. Must be something in the air.

I'm not surprised, nor afraid. I am only 33 years old, quite young still, but I already became reconciled to expect everything from my species when I look at the world I am living in and when I look at the history of my species.

I am very sure that something equally sick happens continuously somewhere on our beautiful world. The only difference of this case is that it happened in a so called "civilized" country.

What if there's a stone, created by the Mayans and hidden under the Temple of Kukulkan, that makes all people cannibalists, when their calender ends?

This is definitively getting out of control :uhh:

Wayne Carter Threw Intestines At Officers After Stabbing Himself, Police Say

A New Jersey man allegedly cut out his entrails in front of police and then threw bits of his flesh and intestines at them.

The gruesome scene played out at a home in Hackensack, N.J., where 43-year-old Wayne Carter allegedly barricaded himself in on Sunday, NBC New York reported.

Officers got a call that morning when a witness said Carter was threatening to harm himself with a knife. Two cops responded, kicked in the door and found Carter in the corner, the station reported.

Carter allegedly ignored officers' orders to put down the knife, and instead began stabbing himself in the abdomen, neck and legs.

An attempt to pepper spray the bleeding man had no effect, the Associated Press reported.

That's when Carter -- disemboweled but responsive -- reportedly threw bits of his skin and intestines at the officers.

They decided to retreat and call in the Bergen County SWAT team, Hackensack police Lt. John Heinemann told reporters. The team was able to subdue Carter and get him to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition on Monday.

Heinemann said he believes that drugs or mental illness may have led to the horrific incident, but those details haven't been confirmed.

No charges have yet been filed due to the unusual nature of the incident.

This time they learned the lesson and called the SWATs in.

I believe Keatah posted that story earlier.

Why do (american) police always exaggerate and really overkill?

Because, unlike what you see in movies, fatal gunshot wounds are often not instantly fatal. Unless the bullet hits the brain or the heart, the cause of death is generally going to be blood loss, which takes time.

I am a bit concerned by the fact that he could easily have killed the victim as well as the cannibal, though.

Load up, boys (and girls). We got ZOMBIES coming. Tell the Army to dust off the shotguns. Me? I'm heading underground. AT&T telecommunications bunker for me!
