My space travel

Hi, Statickid!

I just took off from the runway at NASA shuttle landing facility and get the deltaglider to the vertical (straight up) climb!

Cheers,
Vincent

Guys how far out in space can you go in orbiter. Im trying to get to eris but doing it with sateilite first

Hi, guys!

I'm now 2 light years or 126,480 AU away from the sun!!

Cheers,
Vincent

If you turn on the planetarium mode you can tell what stars you are heading towards, or at least what constellation

Hi, Statickid!

Yes, I know. The background stars is for display purposes for now and it might be possible to fly to those stars in the future versions of orbiter!

Cheers,
Vincent

true , but what background/ornamental star patterns are centered in the cross hair of your HUD if you press the "home" key?

Hi, guys!

I'm now 19,539,700,000,000 kilometers or 130,615 AU away from the sun! I'm moving at the speed of 1,142,011 kilometers per second!

Vincent

I ? traveled to the edge of the orbiter universe how did I do it via modified thrust settings in the config folder for your spacecraft

Hi, spaceflight!

I'm not sure if I'm at the edge of the orbiter universe or not. I'm 130,964 AU away from the sun. I did not modify any thrust settings. I'm using the Dan Steph's Deltaglider IV.

Cheers,
Vincent

There is no 'edge' to the orbiter universe, your distance from the sun just gets larger and larger until your computer can't handle the number any more and Orbiter crashes.

Hi, jangofett287!

That makes sense! Thanks! Somebody said on this on this forum somewhere you can go as far as 1.79x308 meters away from the sun before the orbiter crashes.

Cheers,
Vincent

His journey is epic, and is also an interesting experiment to do in Orbiter.
It would be good idea that you publish the scenario where you are making the trip to see how far you can get with Orbiter.
Greetings:thumbup:.

Him guys!

I'm now 135,942 AU or 20,336,758,000,000 kilometers away from the sun and moving at the speed of 1,140,911 kilometers per second! I'm slowing the spacecraft down to a complete stop until the spacecraft is at rest. (It's going to take a while before the spacecraft is at 0 meters per second or at rest)!

Cheers,
Vincent

Hi, guys!

I forgot to tell you, I'm not experimenting to see how far out I can go in orbiter, I'm doing my epic space flight just for fun.

Cheers,
Vincent

I hope this ship is equipped with cameras and instrumentation. It may very well be mankind's first look at the edge of the universe.
