Anything new toward release ?
 
Looking through some old shuttle videos, I wonder if it would be possible to implement the OMS start transient exhaust puff? Pretty noticeable from the FWD PLB cameras when looking aft.

I have attached two shots of the OMS start transient exhaust puff. The first one is of the NC-1 burn during STS-118/ISS 13A.1. It was an 81 fps burn utilizing both OMS engines and the view is from PLB Cam A looking directly aft..

The second one is of the NC-2 burn during STS-116/12A.1. It was an 34 fps burn utilizing both OMS engines and the view is from the RMS elbow camera.

Any progress at all? Seems rather quiet here.

I think you're thinking of general end users, I'm talking about us developers here. Only because we make a release doesn't mean the work's done.
 
Actually, I just have little time for dev work, and have this time in the ASAT project for now. I also don't have a real clue, what to do next inside the orbiter code, I don't want to mess with SiameseCats work, and aside of the Mission File, I currently only have plans for a small function to calculate Nose RCC temperature.
 
How about implementing the new SFX I checked in? Cryo hiss on the launch pad, switch throw and switch guard throw. Or you could implement actual KU antenna gimballing. Or you could finish up the ODS implementation.

No new features before 1.25 is out, IMHO.

Unless of course, you could say that 1.25 is still over one month away.

But in that case, I would prefer doing the C&W electronics as new feature first. We need this pretty often.
 
I'm almost done with the OMS bugfixes. It should be checked in by Tuesday.

What else needs to be done before we release V1.25?
 
turn off APU in VC mode, maybe have the burnt ET texture rendure after SRB sep.

If we're going to mess with the sounds, then can't we implement the the sounds I checked in? Especially the cryo sound since it is noticeable in conjunction with the APUs.
 
DaveS: I'd prefer not to add new sounds now; from a coding standpoint, it'll be a lot simpler and cleaner if we add the sounds when we actually simulate the associated systems.

Under what conditions should the APU sounds play? In particular, should they be played in just the external view or both the external and cockpit views?

I would say, only outside and only if the distance to the Shuttle is less than x m. Find a good realistic x, so you can hear the APU on the pad, but not hear it kilometers away.
 
Will there be a quick and dirty way, to release the payloads for this release ?
 
OMS fixes have been checked in.
Donamy: I'll add the ability to release payloads.
