But what if we think about enegry-effective way of the mars landing? Esp. ni DG/XR class winged vessels it should definitely involve aerobraking and gliding. But when to stop aerobrake, and start using hover engines? I don't like much idea of braking by the main engines and flying like a brick...
Heh, yea, i've also been in truoble finding this configuation utility 1st time. What i've did - i used the 'Search' function of windows, and tell it to find all .exe files in orbiter's directory. It worked! :)
After completing a few Apollo (AMSO) missions I've decided to try a different approach using beautiful ATV2-CTV-LTV addon by well & no matter. Everything were going nicely till the LTV landing stage. Apollo have a precise PDI autopilot, or even semi-automatic AP, that takes care of vertical...
Can i see an 8-shaped trajectory in IMFD map? I've only used IMFD map during interplanetary flights. What's proper Src, Ref and Tgt for Earth2Moon (and back) flights?
Thanks alot for all theese answers!
A small additional question - as far as i know the optimal launch heading is 90'. Is there always a 'window' that allows launching at 90' heading, or in some cases we can only use pre-calculated headings?

So, i've started...
Nice add-on!
But i can't fully understand flight course. For example dropping a lander into a venus atmosphere. I've readed documentation, and it sad that i should drop it 3 days before arriving (PeA?) Venus, and my PeA should be -500k. So does it means that i shold be on collision course with...
Oh, i finally see that it's planned in transx planechange... so am i right that in this situation my goal is to find trajectory with minimum planechange?
