Humor The Sun now has an owner!

 Oh my. Civil law notaries' services are pretty overpriced here. I assume she's paid a healthy ammount of money to have her claim recorded. Her case has nowhere to go in court, though. The 1967 treaty on Outer Space clearly defines celestial bodies as "res nullius", yet not subject...

    My first orbit reached!

Congrats!!! My first manual orbit was with a stock DG. Didn't find it too difficult after reading a couple tutorials. Reentering was a different issue, though. It took months for me to learn the basics and my reentries are still... well, inaccurate.

    Taste in Music

Mostly 80s punk and 90s-00s indie with some wild streaks of rockabilly, folk, garage, surf, powerpop, psychobilly, twee(!?), french ye-ye, beat, soul, horrorpunk, and new wave. I also keep a reasonably large collection of novelty songs (horror, political and space-themed), a few selected spacey...

    Problem wierd movement with ummu's

Strange that only one scenario is affected. That means Sol.cfg is not the source of the problem. I've taken a quick look at LOUISA[1].scn, and nothing seems to be wrong except for one thing: Date is set to 2023. I've read elsewhere that Orbiter can't keep its physics straight on future dates...

    Problem wierd movement with ummu's

I got a similar problem not long ago. UMmus didn't move (or moved in random directions) and planet gravity on Orbit MFD did read -1:#. First I though it was a conflicting module. After some testing, I found out that installing Pluto+Charon had screwed Sol.cfg somehow. Check gravity on your...

Request Very large space station model

Good idea! I've always wanted some place where I could refuel and resupply my Arrows. Right now all I can do is get them as close as I can to a station and... well, pretend they're docked. How are you going to keep the Arrows docked, though? Right now their only docking port is in a bay deep...

    [ESP] Vagaworld

    Gaming Favorite video game?

UFO - Enemy Unknown and Terror from the Deep do work, but scroll speeds are so high it's virtually unplayable. I've tried slowing the CPU cycles, but then they won't run at all. XCom 3 was to some critics the worst of the lot, but also happened to be my favorite. I can't get this one to work at...

    Gaming Favorite video game?

4Xs! Master of Orion (I, II and even III), Galactic Civilizations, Space Empires (IV and V), Sin of a Solar Empire, the obscure but fondly remembered Ascendancy, the Civilization series and, odd for someone who's not the fantasy type, Master of Magic. Aside from that, the old XCom series (Can't...

General Question Most realistic XR2 settings?

There's a modification by skycaptain/River Crab that makes the XR2 a lot more realistic. She's way more fragile and requires boosters (or Kulch's winged tug) to achieve scram speeds. Link here, hope it helps Realistic settings for XR2 Ravenstar Edit: Credit goes where its due :tiphat:

    Humor Random Comments Thread

Last night a journalist friend of mine told me that the two greatest technological feats of the XXIst century were Twitter and Facebook. I nearly cried.

Launch News Mystery missile launched off US Pacific Coast near LA

It's a typo. 'I' and 'U' are next to each other in a QWERTY keyboard. It doesn't take contrail science to guess that ;) Yes, the culprit (AWE808) had already been identified by the time of my post, and the "missile" hypothesis was almost completely ruled out. I just wanted to point that there's...

Launch News Mystery missile launched off US Pacific Coast near LA

Actually, I find the contrail hypothesis quite scary. An inidentified jet flying off the lanes is certainly something to worry about. For some reason, I'm more comfortable with the idea of a weapons test. It doesn't have to be a super-duper-doomsday device, a simple concealed weapons system...

    Question Need some computer help!

Thanks! :tiphat: Now I think of it, what if I copied kernel32.dll from the WinXP CD?. I can't get enough time/patience to go through an OS reinstall. Those pesky hardware controllers, software licenses... ugh... :uhh:
