I got the manual printed! My neighbor came through. I would have spent the day reading, but I had to move furniture all morning. The setup just wasn't working. I have far too many books in this house. So I'm fried now. Need some Tylenol and Absorbine Junior. Maybe tonight. Made orbit...
Quote :"Also, I've given it some thought and think I know why you are having trouble with the DG rolling so much. Most ascent tutorials have you going to high at too low velocity. This makes the aero controls less usefull - and also reduces the wings ability to stabilize the vessel and counter...
Except the lack of a printer. The Second died a year ago.
Now everyone isn't going to read this but I have a problem. I became, over the years, agoraphobic. I fight it every day.
I have a really hard time going to different places even if they are almost empty.
Most equipment comes in...
Well I can't ask an Author if he book is any good. And I can't ask Dr. Rogers if her book will help me understand Orbiter.
Maybe: will it help me understand orbits and how you simply move about the solar system.
Has anybody looked at the Book: It's Only Rocket Science. It sounds like its for those of us whose last math class was 40 year ago. I vaguely remember that differential Calculus was about finding the slopes of curves and limits, and that I learned large amount of very important stuff in Trig...
Well that describes me. No anything. Not even a dog since August.
I also cannot sit in front of the computer for hours any more.
What I did was see the orbit was enlarging but turned to the HUD, and looked to long. Then swiched the controls to ROT. When I killed the engine it was too late...
That was interesting. Well there I was. 454 fuel left and an orbit that wasn't an orbit, but a parabola. Houston I caused a problem, a big problem. I guess that I might as well eject and open my helmet. I'll starve after about a month anyway. Mission control regrets . . . .
Part next since there are no objection
When she flattens out I go to that 34 K klicks I believe, which is I believe the ceiling of what I can reach, I go balistic and switch the controls (lin). Adding more energy just makes her go down faster. I let her reach apogee and then she just heals...
Let's see. Where are we.
The tutorial in the program shows that you launch when the moons orbit and the prospective orbit of the space craft almost coincide. Apparently you can't do that in any other scenario. I suppose to figure it out from Obit, right?
He (the tutorial) then takes off...
Then this phenomenon is very strange. In that very scenario whent you make the Moon the TGT on the map you get no orbit just a straight line south of the equator. Now the other problem may result from the fuel setting (unlimited) which seems to bring the DG down no matter how high you go on...
