I am quite sure that the Apollo astronauts left mirrors on the lunar surface. Not sure which missions but they left them there and astrologers can use these to take measurements of the moons orbit etc. So i can imagine as telescope power gets stronger over the years to come and telescopes...
thanks, at the moment I am creating my models in solid edge exporting it in 3ds and only opening and re exporting in anim8or as this is the only way I can get a 3ds file that will correctly convert to .msh format. So I havent used anim8or as of yet, but great to know that it can be done
Hey, I am just getting into developing using spacecraft3.dll. I have created my 3ds file converted to .msh format fine and opened in meshwizard. What I am stuck at is the fact that there is only one group, Group 0. From what I have gathered I need to have my landing gear in seperate groups from...
what about when returning from the moon??? I have always burned my DG-IV when returning from the moon or had to do way too many aerobraking orbits until i do not burn up.
yes you need to 'share' the MFD's information, its easy, when you start the IMFDs iin both left and right MFDs after the reboot screen has shown on both get past those as you would normally and then on the MFD that you plan to use the MAP mode for IMFD click share and enter the ID of the other...
I used LTMFD to perform a TLI burn only needed one mid course correction and then i displayed the map in IMFD with the cnt as r-moon target moon and it showed somewhat of a free return trajectory. I dont know if it was because i inserted into orbit but i guess if thats what you get a TEI MCC...
Have a look at this
Precession - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and scroll about 3/4 of the way down it explains how the ecliptic changes through a period of time, just reminds you how uncertain orbits can be and the pure luck that we are alive today, this is the reason for the ice ages and...
I think a big part in Deke giving Shepard the commanders position was the fact that he himself could not fly (at the time) and knew exactly how **** it was for them, so as soon as Shepard was passed by flight surgeons Deke put him at the top of the rotation. But I think I am being too harsh on...
Shepard was barely not a rookie, his apollo 14 flight was his 2nd flight after his mercury flight. He had not flown in over 8 years and was out of the simulators for about as long as that. Not talking him down but I dont know if experiance was neccessary to be commander
very interesting idea, that if we build the tower tall enough it would effectively have no weight acting upon its supports on earth.
Rising Fury, Do you enjoy performing Kinematic Analysis all the time, I just finished them at uni and cant wait to leave them alone for a while lol
lol didnt NASA have a competition inviting people to share their ideas and designs for a space elevator. At the geostationary altitude the velocity is much much greater than the velocity on the surface of the earth. as angular velocity multiplied by the radius to the point is equal to the...
I had a thought earlier today that having a shipyard or constructions spacestation for the arrow in earth orbit would make a very realistic scenario. I was thinking a station in which the arrow is attatched but not docked so it would have to jettison from the station when it is prepared to...
