The NERVA2 represents my attempt to simulate a modern Gas-Core "closed cycle" Nuclear Thermal Rocket attaining an ISP of approx. 1600s. This, from what I've read would be a somewhat conservative estimate of the potential thrust of a gas core type engine. The NERVA2 for lack of a better name has 5 docking ports, 4 on the sides to accomadate LH2 Drop tanks and one in the nose to push a stack for an interplanetary expedition. This configuration was inspired by Stephen Baxter's "Voyage" and seemed to me the logical way to build an interplanetary stack in Orbiter.
