PODEROSA LUNAR LANDER
Mission Poderosa II Lunar Lander is a fictitious mission in which the first Italian astronaut (Paolo Nespoli) will reach the Moon. This is the continuation of the Poderosa program, which began with the launch of the Poderosa I(available at Orbit Hangar: http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4133).
Launch is scheduled at 13:55:00 of the day July 23, 2023 at the new italian sea launch platform Aurora, off the coast of Kenya.The mission provides the TLI burn through the third stage of Broglio, the extraction of the ILL (Italian Lunar Lander) Aracne and the continuation to the Moon. The entry into lunar orbit is planned for July 27. The following day Nespoli will slip into Aracne and the lander will undock from Service Module. The Poderosa II capsule commander Roberto Vittori will remain in lunar orbit. The landing is scheduled at 10:55:00 UTC on 28 July, in a plain crater near Mare Serenitas. There will be an 8 hours moon walk, during which it is planted the Italian flag, will be put into operation a small exploratory Lunar Rover and will be conducted other experiments.
The ascent is expected at 18:00:00 UTC and docking with the Command and Service Module in orbit at 19:00:00 UTC.
The return is scheduled for the morning hours on July 31, 2023 to splashdown in the Adriatic Sea and recovery of the
Poderosa II capsule by the Italian Navy.DOCUMENTATION
