MetOp is a series of polar orbiting meteorological satellites (Orbit SSO at 850km) built by ESA and EUMETSAT.
The fisrt sat Metop-A was launched on October 19, 2006 by Soyuz 2.1b ST at Baikonur. The next will launch in 2010 and 2014.
