    News Shoreham Airshow crash.

I'd guess that "escape" is used as short-hand for "wings level, level out and control speed". The aerobatic pilot needs training in making the correct decision when to initiate an "escape". Professional display pilots have made the exact same mistake.

Launch News SpaceX to send privately crewed Dragon spacecraft around the Moon in 2018

True, if you're talking about distance. If you're talking about energy, 6,000 km is much closer to the Moon than you would think.

I guess we're lucky he wasn't flying the Millennium Falcon at the time.

Maybe it's just me, but I got the impression that he was using words like "coelliptic" and "phasing" without understanding the basics of rendezvous operation. I can understand if a TV presenter makes this kind of mistake, but if you're working for a rocket manufacturer you should try harder IMHO.

It may be because English isn't my native language, but I think this guy needs some KSP experience. (I suspect Orbiter would be a fair few bridges too far) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giNhaEzv_PI&feature=youtu.be&t=29m43s What are the qualifications required to present a show like this?

    Realistic Space Flight Simulator

I think the main problem is that in this case "Realistic" is a subjective attribute. It's describing if it makes you feel like you're doing the actual ting you're simulating. Some people can look at the numbers on OrbitMFD and go "Yep, this is realistic" while others 'sit' in a DG 3D cockpit...

Isn't one of the point of the thought experiment that the result of an actual experiment would be invalid, because the act of observing affects the outcome? (I think I just gave myself a headache)

    Orbiter Video Thread

I noticed you got very low on energy on both approaches. IMHO you are using AerobrakeMFD too close to the HAC. IIRC AerobrakeMFD shows the range if you hold current attitude all the way to the ground, and doesn't account for the longer ground track added by flying the HAC turn. If you used...

Question What is an electrical bus exactly?

All those rules above are only valid for DC circuits and unregulated power sources. If you want to model 3 phase sinusoidal AC it gets really complicated.
