Thanks for the helpful replies!
In the meanwhile, I have also found the meaning of the "NAVFREQ" settings in the ship section of the .scn file by myself.
I was just confused, because:
1) the frequencies are not set directly, as they are displayed in the MFD, but somehow coded (108.00 = 0...
Hi @all!
Many vessel settings and flight parameters are stored in the corresponding scenario file when saving a current mission status.
However, it seems that the set COM/NAV frequencies are lost everytime I restart a saved scenario, and I have to look them up and set them anew. This is somehow...
I now re-installed Orbiter 2024, and that seems to have solved the problem.
However, this time I installed the XR-2 add-on before installing Orbiter Sound 5.0.
Probably I also found the reason for the CTDs I got after re-installing only the XR-2 add-on:
The "Sound Bridge OS" add-on, which was...
Thank you for your quick response.
Well, although I was sure I downloaded the correct (2024) XR-2 version, maybe you were right.
But just to make sure, I re-downladed it a few minutes ago from the source you linked, and installed it.
Unfortunately, now it is even worse: any scenario including...
Hi to all,
although I'm not quite new to Orbiter, I paused for a few years "going to orbit" ;-)
The reason were repeating issues I faced with Orbiter 2016, mostly resulting in CTD. I'm not sure, whether my computer configuration has to with that.
However, now I realized the new Orbiter 2024 has...
Seems I found it out :cool::
several lines of the RUNWAY section in the Canaveral.cfg were commented out by semicolons.
I tried out what would happen, if I remove the semicolons, and tadaaa: I see the hi-res runway textures.
It was just confusing for me that this had not been necessary in the...
@N_Molson and MaxBuzz:
Thank you for your quick replies. I really overlooked that the pictures I see in the scenario are not coming from particular runway textures but from the surface textures.
I thought the runway appearance was defined by the line
RWTEX Runway2
in the Canaveral.cfg, and if I...
Hi @all!
Since I'm new to Orbiter 2016, I'm not sure whether I'm making mistakes with addons, or whether they just won't work with Orbiter 2016 at all
...
In my old Orbiter 2010 installation, I used some hi-res textures for runways, as they are available from OHM. I tried this with Orbiter 2016...
@Nokigori:
Thank you for your quick reply, and for this hint.
Of course, I don't want to appear ungrateful or even nagging, but it seems to me that Fly-By-Wire is not exactly what I'm looking for.
After installation, I found the configuration settings in the "Extra" section of Orbiter Launchpad...
Hi @all!
After some long kind of "time-out" I finally came back to Orbiter :)
Several years ago, I only had an old Windows XP computer with rather scanty CPU, graphics, and memory capabilities...:cry:
Therefore I could just use Orbiter 2010 with low resolution settings, etc.....yet it worked...
@Aeadar:
That's the info I was hoping for!
The UMMUFA module garyw suggested already allowed the crew transfer to the ISS, but I couldn't figure out so far, how to get the crew members back to the ship. Each time I tried so, the respective member found him(her)self somehow wedged in the outer...
@garyw:
Thanks a lot for this hint. With the add-on you suggested the crew transfer works. :thumbup:
I'm now just figuring out how to get the people back from ISS to the ship ;)
Anyway, it's strange that if I googled for "ISS crew transfer" or "UMmu compatible ISS" I came across several...
I understood this already from numerous discussions I came across via Google. I read that this UMmu supporting ISS version was included in DanSteph's UCGO & UMmu (from version 2.5 on). I have version 3.0, but somehow it still doesn' work. Do I have to configure something manually after the...
Hi @all!
Although I tried hard to find a solution via this forum and via Google, I still can't transfer crew members from XR2 Ravenstar or XR5 Vanguard to the ISS.
I installed DanSteph's DeltaGliderIV & UMmu 3.0 and UCGO & UMmu 3.0, and I tried to remove any blanks and hyphens from the...
Somehow I solved the problem, but I'm not sure, what was the fault:
I just took the time and re-installed my complete Orbiter installation anew, but this time with the ASVI base as the very first addon after the basic Orbiter installation. I checked some ASVI scenario, and it worked with all...
Thank you for the hint, and I believe in many such cases the advice to read the manual really qualifies...
But I'm almost sorry to say: I read the manual in advance, and followed it as far as it was possible:
Firstly, there's no uninstall folder in my Orbiter installation at all, hence I can't...
Hi to all!
Recently I thought it would be nice to have a spaceport in the south of Europe, so I came across the ASVI base and installed it.
When I looked at it the first time I was wondering why the near surroundings of the base are completely white (see attached screenshot).
Are there some...
Thanks alot for the quick answers.
@Castor: There's some misunderstanding, I guess. I didn't mean the detailed numbers and values which can be toggled on and off by MOD as in most MFDs. I meant the color and visual details of the map itself.
@asbjos: Thanks for the hint. I will try this as...
Hi at all!
I have got a question concerning the map/graph display of AerobrakeMFD.
Just in case somebody came across the same "problem", and there might be a solution for this:
When I installed AerobrakeMFD for the first time and clicked through the different display and PRJ options, a small...
Thanks a lot for your answers to my question!
I'm well aware that this is indeed a very-low-priority problem since it only occurs in the playback. I'll try your suggestions for those occasions when I want to show the playback of a landing to somebody... :)
