Hi, I have a question: It seems for me that NASSP only works with the old DanSteph OrbiterSound 4.0 release. I have tried to get it to work with XRSound and SoundBridge, however resulting always in CTDs. Given that OrbiterSound 4.0 is not maintained anymore, and there are compatibility issues...
I had the luck of being in the area and viewing the SAOCOM 1a launch directly from Vandenberg. What an incredible show!
Anyway, I just recreated the mission in orbiter with Kyle's scenario pack and BrianJ's Falcon 9. Really amazing what a good job you guys did! Everything seemed incredible...
It really is a nice and legitimate experiment but it doesn't make a Dean drive work. This takes place inside of an optical lattice (an artificial crystal), negative masses are nothing peculiar there (the effective mass corresponds to the curvature of the dispersion relationship). The crystal can...
That's actually a very interesting concept but I have some problems unterstanding it.
The formulation I used was probably wrong. The problem is more about giving propabilities, when every world is really existant. You may look into Brian Greenes Hidden Reality Chapter 8. Especially the...
I am surprised that so far everyone chose many worlds interpretation. I hope it's not because it is in italics:P.
Maybe I throw in here that there are some problems with the many worlds interpretation like calculating the probabilities of events with an infinite number of alternate events...
Hello,
I am currently writing on my diploma thesis on a topic of quantum mechanics. I think I am familiar enough with the formalism and how to apply it but the interpretation is something totally different. So I made a poll to see what you guys think about this. The options are from wikipedia...
Thx a lot, that actually helped :)!
Although, after some fiddling, I found it easier to control up-down with the trim function.
About the autopilot: I used the combinations in your vid (alt 7000 m, spd 250 m/s). The instability might come from high framerate? This time I couldn't reproduce it.
This is really hard. I tried it two times and both times run out of fuel. Unfortunately the autopilot of the xr5 gets a bit unstable (maybe when the fuel is low?) and it starts to oscillate up and down making everything even more complicated.
I have a question: Is it possible to control linear...
Yeah, of course you can define and use a mathematical structure which is equivalent to complex numbers. I, for myself, don't see the point in doing so. You can always "avoid" using complex numbers by calling it by a different name.
The point I am making is:
All the laws of classical physics...
I just want to point out what has already been said earlier:
AFAIK in classical physics (that is mechanics, electrodynamics and relativity) complex numbers are just handy but not strictly necessary. All the physical quantities, that can be measured, are real. Quantum mechanics, however, would...
I just throw in a XR2 score for me. Don't know why it is so much better than my DG score (was my first try with the XR2). I should try to improve my DG score as well.
---Edit---
Just improved my Deltaglider score:
After the martian moons challenge this challenge seemed as the next logical step in my Orbiter learning. I have to admit this is a difficult challenge but it didn't take as much time as the martian moons tour. On the other hand I think that is because you can save in this challenge. I could...
Thx for this nice challenge blixel (and dgatsoulis for the script). It's short and perfect for practising purposes.
It took me 3 tries until I completed it. I know it's not the best score, maybe I will try again later.
Good job Blixel :tiphat:!
I looked through your videos and our approach is more or less the same. Your transfers are more efficient however, which might be my incompetence or because I am using imfd and not transx.
Nevertheless there is a certain technique, which could save you some few 100...
I second the possibility to continue the challenge from a quicksave.
This time I almost got the challenge. I found a way to conserve some fuel, so in this aspect it is now certainly doable for me. On the other hand I crashed the deltaglider on the landing approach .
It's really...
I think I am doing sth wrong. This time I managed to get back to Mars but without any fuel left. I did aerobraking around a quarter of the planet but then I srewed up and overshoot the base, without fuel left.
Time isn't a problem, I still had 3h left, but somehow I don't conserve enough fuel...
Tried the challenge today. I think it's a though one.
First I tried without thinking about the timing, which doesn't work of course. Then I did some calculations and worked out the timing.
The next time I tried the timing was OK but when I was at Deimos I didn't even have enough fuel to get...
Ok, this time I got it better :):
2750.0 in a XR2 Ravenstar.
A replay is included. My way of landing is a little bit strange: I used the main engines for braking because I wanted to minimize gravitational fuel losses.
