C++ Question Structure of C++ code for orbiter

mmm but then all that Orbiter could provide would be some pre-defined moments at which to call custom-functions, or pre-defined names for custom-functions to be called. Otherwise there would be no way of knowing when to call a totally custom func. Am i right?

    Adding functionalities to orbiter?

No. What i have in mind is nothing like this. It's more on the point of "entertainment" then on "functionality". I thought of wreking some havoc on the comm system. Bringing dynamic communications between vessels, like on approach, docking, un-docking, etc... Something like a chatter, asking...

    Adding functionalities to orbiter?

Comms. I have in my mind a structure to implement vessel-2-vessel communications and control.

    Adding functionalities to orbiter?

I thought of that, but i couldn't find any reference in the sdk. There is all about vessels and mfd, but not about general plugins... At least i haven't found anything. Can you point me in the right direction?

    Adding functionalities to orbiter?

I was titillating with an idea and gone have a look ad the sdk docs. In what i read there is no hint at how to provide a functionality to the base orbiter for every other vessel to use. Is it possibile at all by makeing a dll? Or should i go and ask Martin to work on the orbiter core? Going the...

    Project ISSU

    Pete, i meant Unity's mesh. Not the hatch's ;)

Do we already have the mesh on the SVN? If so i can start working on it.

    Project S1 truss

Well... man that has surely been some boring and long work... But the results are awesome as i said ;) I was secretly hoping there was some "easier" way to define and implement animations... afaik there isn't.

    Project S1 truss

Whoa Donamy! That's awesome! How did you code the animation? Did you really did it all by hand typing???

    Project ISSU

Sorry for the error. I've corrected it and also improved the role font a bit. The new link is http://web.tiscali.it/erupter/img/issu_project_coordinator.jpg If there is people willing to do work then best have them do. So we don't get confused. In the PMA case for example we should have...

 Well next time pls remember such dusting repertoirs :P Do hatches miss completely or are they just retracted in the pic posted? How are we going to address the hatch movement? Realistic reproduction, or functionality? 1st case: they slide inward, and then slide sideways (and if i am...

    Project ISSU

Good, we'll see how well they do in orbiter soon. Awesome... i just finished a Unity hull mesh complete with UVW masks for the textures... Let me have a look at it, i was going to elaborate a way to have sliding hatches. Did you already do them? If i have to scrap it better know it before i...

No ETA at the moment. Still in early stages.

I need an info i can't source. Hatches details. Diameter, shape, height, direction of aperture (do they fold inward or outward when open?). I can't find these. I noticed from high-res pictures available on the net that actual donamy's unity proportions are wrong: hatches occupy about two thirds...

Orbiter horizon curvature and other stuff

My 2c about barrel distortion. A fish-eye (or super-wide) lens causes extreme distortion below or above the central horizontal axis. Giving in to such an approximation is the necessary trade off to cramp more things in a small area. The tighter the viewing angle, the less distortion: super-tele...

    Project Stargateships in Orbiter

Easiest way i know (and it's still plain messy) is Vinka's Spacecraft.dll. You setup a cfg for the craft and you can have animations. You could have the engine nacelles sliding in and out. Although that's gonna take some (coding) time. Otherwise simple Orbiter cfg works but it's pretty limited...

Orbiter horizon curvature and other stuff

I dunno... Orbiter can surely be made so that dimensions are correct, but everything seems so small and short. But that may be because of lack in details, and also because anything in orbiter flies much faster then anything (or almost) in MSFS. Altough i remember one fictional mach 3+ craft and...

    MS Flightsim staff canned

Then why bash every development idea in the range of new graphics engine... There are tons of people here clinging hard to the root of graphical badness like it were some kind of honour martirism... That's one of the things i miss a lot. Haveing all those "flying" vessels (shuttle, xr-n, etc)...
