there were a few .msh to edit but fortunately their name was obvious (hill.xx..msh mountain.xx.msh crater.xx.msh ) and after adding that FLAG 1 after the GROUPS 1 it worked excellently !

Testing Orbiter 2016 and the latest dx9 client with Orbiter_NG.exe
I play windowed as i like to read ships and procedure manuals and tutorials while playing, so it's easy to me to just click on pdf/browser that are behind my Orbiter window instead of ALT-TAB if i was full screen.
But...
the collision modelling with the terrain looks like a very impressive change in the video from the first post. I will have to land more correctly now :D
I have a question about as i use the DX7 version of Orbiter and not the DX9 client because i use some addons that are not compatible with it.
Am i going to run into troubles with the new XR "D3D9-Ready" releases while playing with DX7 and should i just keep using the XR version i have instead ?

Nice ascent, i liked the part in which you accepted to lose a bit of altitude to stay under 55km altitude, good trick to keep most scram efficiency and have increased speed.

But you didn't uploaded the flight datas (in the Flight folder you have a sub folder that have the same name as the replay file), without the flight datas, you can view this...

If it can help, it seems i refined my method a bit and managed to get a (roughly) 230x230 km while having a bit more than 62% main fuel left.
Here it is :
Take off Full engine at 100km/h with Attitude Hold autopilot set to pitch 50 degree, then Gear Up.

It's a matter of preference, for me it's the XR-2 that i use in most of my Orbiter flights.
The DG-IV is always a very good ship, but i prefer the XR-2.
At first it was the 3D cockpit of the XR-2 that got it my preference.
Even if it's non-functionning yet , it allows for a nice immersivity...
Yes, the challenge is :
-start from default settings for XR-2 (start from "Ready for take off to ISS" default Ravenstar mission is the best conditions for this)
-Ascent and get a circular orbit (at least roughly circular) while having in the end as much Main engine fuel remaining as possible...
Yes, it's great fun to see how much you can optimise your ascents when tweaking your own methods, additionally you learn a little bit more each time too and can get interesting procedures from other Orbiter pilots ;)

That's great to know the XR-2 is regulating the Scram temperature automatically, when the XR-2 voice always started to warn me in panic, i was always shutting down Scram as soon as possible to avoid disaster.
The "roller coster" effect with the Attitude Hold should only occur if you accelerate time (even only at X10), but in real time i didn't observed this problem during my ascents.
It's a very very usefull autopilot to me.
Tried a few more attempts at an orbiting flight starting from KCS with...
I gave a try and on my procedure, i lowered my Attitude Hold pitch angle to 2.5 instead of 5 to get less altitude speed and so keep the Scram engine burning while staying under 60 km altitude, but something it wasn't doing when i kept the pitch to 5 is leading into some serious Scram temperature...
