Your idea to split the objects was good. I isolated and imported them one by one to analyze them in the simulator. I cleaned things up and split the objects as well.
It worked.
And I made sure to use "Shade Auto Smooth" for every element whenever possible.

Hi EvESpririt, i'm very interested in mesh collisions and deformations. For collisions, it's obvious that boxes will suffice. But for deformations, it will be a bit more difficult.
