Yes AMSO is an outstanding piece of software, getting to grips with the shuttle fleet at the moment. Managed to re-boost the skylab, next i figure i'll try the same mission with SSU see how we go :cheers:

Lunar transfer MFD is excellent for a beginer, easy to use and it comes with detailed instructions for use.

Thansk for the advice Urwumpe, i'll download shuttle fleet instead. I guess SSU is to shuttle fleet as NASSP is to AMSO.:speakcool:

Are there any SSU tutorials available? I have done some forum searches and not come up with anything. I am trying to use the SSU with the Skylab 1980 addon

I googled "phases of the moon" and found a cool web site with a calendar displaying the moon's different phases each day over the year (2009). Not exactly NASA but it'll do for now :).

Hi chaps, having fun with orbiter. I have finaly got around to leaving earth orbit and landing on the moon, it's good stuff. My question is, what is the best way to plan a moon shot so that my landing site will be in daylight? Preferably at lunar dawn, I'm getting tired of landing in the dark.

I listen to the soundtrack from "in the shadow of the moon". Realy get's me in the mood for some orbital mechanics :P

I get the "white flashy" problem if I run iTunes in the background to listen to music. Strange thing is, if I minimise iTunes before switching back to Orbiter it dosen't happen. I always thought it was something to do with the iTunes animated menu thing.

Skylab My first ever successful complete flight (last night). Had a lot of firsts for me. Took off KSC, first ever successful manual rendezvous, first successful manual docking and first succesfull manual reentry. Cool eh? Oh and there's a pretty picture too :salute:

It does? oh :embarrassed: Must have missed that one sorry. I guess the only option is to try and control it with thrusters. Don't want it drifting off the pad and geting stranded on Phobos, nice view of mars but theres just no atmosphere :lol:

Good idea Phantom, unless you come straight down the XR2 does tend to roll and bounce about on touchdown because of low gravity. Would be nice if the thing had wheel brakes :)

Hi, i'm new here so go easy on me :). I have been learning how to use Orbiter for a few months now. I can handle most things but can't figure out how to land on the prelude base on Phobos. I sync planes. Then, using transfer mfd I slingshot out to intercept Phobos. However i'm not accurate...
