Okay, thanks a lot for the replies :) I'm guessing I have to use the Moon somehow, as I've just realized there's (surprisingly -- I guess the altitude helps a lot) just enough fuel to swing over and say hi to the Moon. Can someone confirm or deny that (without providing any further guidance)?
I do *not* want a dead give-away. I'd much rather get no help at all, than that. Vague hints at the most, please...thanks :)
Am I really supposed to be starting off at a 42 million meter orbit with less than 400 kilograms of fuel? Blasting it all while retrograde only brings my perogee down...
Sometimes when I use the basic "Transfer" MFD to go from the Earth to the Moon, everything goes swimmingly. However, other times, things go catty-whompus when I try to do my Earth ejection / Trans-lunar injection burn, and I can't find any discernible difference between what I do when things go...
Thank you for all the replies :) they're very much appreciated.
Most of what you've told me is stuff that I already know, however. I guess I was wrong to use the word "stability," I know what the eccentricity means. Whatever I did to get me crashing down to the surface is something that I...
Hi, I just started playing with Orbiter a few days ago, and I'm having a problem in that whenever I change my orbital plane or, worse, try to sync up my position with another object (i.e. Mir or ISS), I lose a *lot* of orbit stability (eccentricity goes to ~0.05 or even 0.1 or higher). I know...
