(I am using Shuttle Fleet 4.2)

1. Unlike GD or XR2, space shuttle's hub is located on its back, how on earth could I dock to ISS with linear translation, when all the buttons are inverted in direction?

2. How to directly ascent and rendezvous with ISS without waiting for a few periods in orbit before catching up?

3. In ISS 3.0, the docks don't have frequencies and I couldn't find visual guidance on the HUD. How can I dock to it then?

It's not that difficult and I believe the current Shuttle Fleet has an option to change the thruster sequences to be a bit more understandable from the docking port view. However, if you follow an V-Bar approach all you are doing is firing the downward thrusters to bring you towards to the ISS

2. How to directly ascent and rendezvous with ISS without waiting for a few periods in orbit before catching up?
Launch MFD will help you with this. Do a search here on the forum for Launch MFD and you should see a discussion topic about it.

I don't use ISS 3.0 so don't know but you can fly and dock to the ISS without any radio frequencies. I've done it a few times when I didn't know better.

i even enjoy the small extra challenge not using frequencies gives.

i don't understand that,

i use the dock MFD for docking and select a dock (ussually dock 1) to dock, am i docking with frequencies then or not?

You can use the COMM MFD to tune an XPDR frequency. It'll give you much better visual indication of where the ISS is and where the docking port is located.

Of course, you don't have to do it that way.

COMM MFD can also be used to tune nav aids which makes entry just a little bit easier.
