And the STS sim pack its now sold with, anyone have any experiance with it? Ive never heard much anything about it and am wondering what the rest of the community thinks.

Looking for the best spaceflight simulator for the "being there" feel long with realism, orbiter is great, still learning it, also STS Mission Sim looks very well done as well.

I've got both sim games and to make a long story short: Waste of money.

Apollo 2006.. I'm not even gonna begin about it. STS is pretty funny though, but you don't have the freedom you have in Orbiter. And I think when SSU is done, it is far better then STS simulator.

http://www.space-shuttle-mission.com/ - This is the one that looks the best on the market right now in non-orbiter sims, simulating a single craft in great detail. SSU? is going to be a orbiter based project?

And as for the "Dream space interactive " products Apollo Sim 2006, they are really that bad?

Interesting. In the mean time i think im going to buy STM, the reviews and visuals plus the level of realism looks fantastic. However, ive always been into the Apollo missions and craft, and am really looking for something that fits that bill. Why ive been looking at all the possible sims around, plus mod projects. Currently, other than orbiter i have E lander 3D and A,OK, both great simulations but i would like to have one that does the whole mission profile.

Although i study spaceflight and have known about orbiter for years something has held me back about it so far, looking to change that. What im really interested as well is any good simulations of russian craft, both early and modern, but am wondering how the sim handles flight automation as thats a major factor of the many of the russian craft.

And dont buy Apollo Simulator 2006 then?

SSM2007 is a very good sim and indepth. It has very little freedom in how you go about your missions though, but thats a plus I think. I mean in orbiter you make your own missions and do them how you like in SSM you are told what to do. Its a great sim and you will learn how to use a RMS and proper docking with the ISS. Its just that you will get instructions from the ground telling you when to burn and for how long.

Also the earth textures are poor compared to Orbiters L11 and 14 but there is a new version coming who knows when that will have much better graphics. Im waiting for SSM2 hehe.

Good to know, its that level of in mission realism that has got me leaning towards SSM.
