Hello. Absolutely new to Orbiter and very exited to learn it's use. 10 year Microsoft Flight simulator X and X-plane user so not a stranger to basic format (I hope). My question is truly "Where is the Manual located" ? I have looked once unzipped and can not find the manual to explain where to even start. Sorry such a simple question. I could not find a thread to explain where it is either. Thank You for Your patience.

The manual is a pdf file called Orbiter, located in the "Doc" folder of your Orbiter installation. You might also be interested in a a user written guide to starting out in Orbiter called "Go play in Space" as well, at this link. It says made for Oribter 2006, but since the basics haven't changed 'Go play is Space' is still usable in 2010, and AFAIK, without problems.

Also, for the most part, spaceflight is pretty alien to Earthly experiences, flying included. If you take your time, remembering that the rules that applied to Piper Cubs and Boeing 747s aren't the same rules Space Shuttles and satellites play by, you should be fine though.

The official Orbiter manual can be found in the Doc subfolder. Doc is short for "Documentation".

Thank You. I had not actually gone threw the folders and have it now loaded and even found a sound package add on. Now to figure out how the darn thing works LOL. Just doing some demos for now. Have to admit I do not like the limited joystick choices. I have a complete set up from peddles to yokes to throttle quads and all this uses is the yoke. Take some getting used to. Time to explore. Thank You for the responce.

Thank You so much. I did find the manuals after posting this. Even read up and found a sound package for Orbiter. Do not like the limited controls choice. I have a complete flight set up from Yoke to peddles and throttle quads but all I can use in this is the yoke ? Oh well I will get used to it. Look forward to figuring this out.
