You know... It would be really nice if you started experiencing a blackout due to high G's in a reentry, especially while doing an inverted reentry, not to mention on the launch phase too...

Could it be doable for Orbiter?

Currently this is implemented in DG-IV (please read the manual for DGIV - there are a few RL diagrams on that). There are no Orbiter API means for determining acceleration/deceleration loads as of 2010-P1 (MFD and vehicle designers do the differentiation themselves). Blackout conditions differ a bit from one person to another, for all we know it could be a sentient snail or an alien in the cockpit, or the craft could be unmanned (like Buran ;) on the last flight).

Yeah, I know about the one in the DG-IV, but even while the tertiary HUD says you're in a G-LOC you neither lose control of the ship nor have visual effects of it (screen goes black), except when you die during a G-LOC in a DG-IV '-'

I was thinking on something simple, like, just the screen going black due to high G's and going red due to high negative G's.

Something configurable... (using that graphic in the DG-IV's manual as an example)

Should I conclude then that something like this has to be implemented while doing the ship altogheter? >_<
