Book recommendations: space exploration history

Hello,

I haven't been to this forum in a long while... (part of the reason is I'm a Linux-only-user now ).

I'd like to ask for recommendations about space explication history books. I want to share it with a 3yo, who can't have enough shuttle launch clips. So I'm after something with a focus on displaying good photographs, and a bit of technical stuff (e.g. rocket specs, cross section diagrams of engines...).

I never thought Orbiter would run well in Wine, it's not precisely the most lightweight application out there! Will give that a try

Might have something suitable for a 3 year old.

As an aside, one of the best books I've read about the ins-and-outs of the Shuttle program (but not for a 3 year old) was "Riding Rockets", by Mike Mullane.

Space exploration history? Read "Breaking the Chains of Gravity" by Amy Shira Teitel. It tells of NASA's origin starting with the Germans.

Subscribe to her youtube channel as well. That girl is a wealth of esoteric minutia regarding the early days of spaceflight.
