Running the ISS dock mission and when it comes time to align planes, SIFT-T brings up the target dialog, but I can't do anything with it. If I type (like "ISS" for example), nothing happens. If I try to select any of the options (Spacecraft, Celestial Bodies), the dialog simply closes. The MFD continues to display a message asking me to select target.

Any clues appreciated.

:welcome: to the forum!

Can you please specify what version you are running and where you got target MFD?
I can't seem to find it anywhere.

If it's the standard target selection dialog, use the up and down cursor keys to select spacecraft, then hit the right cursor key to expand that menu. Then select the target with the up and down cursors and hit enter to select it.

If you are not in range, you might not select a target.
Targets have an XPDR signal and if it does not reach you, you can't select a target.

Wow! Thanks for the quick and helpful responses, guys! I will try both of these tonight. Glad to hear I have some procedural fixes to try first vice a software problem.

Much appreciated!

Be aware that some vessels may not have a docking port IDS frequency to dock, and that causes you not to be able to have a docking cone, so you might need to add the IDS frequency to the scenario code.

The "stock" MFD's, and some add-on MFD's use the menu-driven target selector, operated with the direction keys as outlined above.

Some add-on MFD's such as BaseSyncMFD and AerobrakeMFD use a "dialog box". For these, you must type in the name of the target. Spelling matters, you can use "Object Info" (accessible from the <F4> menu, or IIRC by pressing <Ctrl><I>) to check an obect's spelling. The "dialog box" is not "case-sensitive", so capitalization isn't important.

Some MFD's, most notably DockMFD and VTOLMFD, can simulate the use of radio transmitters, and will only target objects close enough to be "in-range" of the transmitter. The vessels receiver's must be set to the correct frequency also, by using COM/NAV MFD. VOR transmitters have a much longer range than IDS or ILS transmitters.
They can be used during the later stages of Orbital Syncronization or initial approach to a base. Once closer, the IDS/ILS frequencies can be used to target indivual docks/pads.

BTW, DockMFD can be manually targeted to docks close by, but without IDS transmitters, by using the <vis> button, or manually to any dock with the <TGT> button without having to set an IDS frequency.

Have you tried adding this ships in your scenario file?
