I had a little trouble with a mission I made up. I started out with the Deepstar 2.0 in orbit around the earth I flew up from Wideawake in a DGIV and docked with the Deepstar. I turned prograde with the Deepstar and started my burn, and here is where I ran into a problem as soon as I brought the main engine up I started to yaw in the direction the DGIV was docked.

My question is was the yaw being produced by the extra mass of the DGIV or was it a glitch in my program?

If you have a ship docked out of line with your thrust, it will pitch or yaw in that direction. You have to balance it with another ship of the same weight on an opposite port, or counter it with attitude thrusters.

If the ship has the capability to do so, you can also counter the effect with engine gimbaling.

This problem is particularly noticeable with Deepstar because the stock Deepstar configuration is ridiculously lightweight (If I recall the default dry mass is 20t, etc). I remember in the original thread on m6 there was a discussion about more realistic masses. If I have time I'll see if I can find it again, or you can look yourself.

I am so happy it wasnt a glitch, I will have to be more careful about loading :)

Thank you for such quick responds.

Is there any other addons like the Deepstar, maybe with a 2d cockpit with lots of switches ( I am a switch junky two of my favorite ships are the DGIV and the XR series.)

NASSP is switch junkie heaven, though it's an Apollo-only simulator. There's enough switches to flick on those panels to keep you happy for months.

I was just reading up on that, I think I am gonna download it when I get home( I work the graveyard shift and with the slow season have a lot of free time at work) I have always been a fan of the space program, I think I could get alot of enjoyment flying the early programs.
