Delta Glider EX - Extremely Low Thrust

Schimz, Love the DGEX. I think its one of the most realistic space plane addons.

I have a small suggestion for any future DGEX. It would be nice to have an autopilot that will hold v/s by adjusting pitch. It would sure make the DGEX alot easier to fly in to orbit. It could also have benifits when performing reentry.

I know there is the attitude MFD but it does not use pitch to control v/s.
I have been hoping someone would see this as a worth while project and create an MFD that would do this.

Thanks

Ted

Copy that.
But I think I don't need to write an AP. I'll make some extra RCS dedicated to reentry. The KillRot AP will do the job.

You can also make the elevator trim more powerful, so that aerodynamic forces regulate the AOA. That usually works pretty well for most add-ons and is realistic as also used in the Space Shuttle.

But an option to enable more Pitch thrusters/Yaw thrusters would be useful anyway. Maybe you can code something in the direction of the Digital Autopilot, the Shuttle has. This allows the pilot to select different RCS settings. In your case, you could for example switch from a orbit configuration, which attempts to conserve RCS fuel, to a reentry/ascent configuration, which uses all available thrusters for an axis. Or enable more downward facing RCS thrusters for translation maneuvers, etc...

After a few failed attempts I spent a few minutes with the search engine... I just wasn't wiling to give up. Thanks to the advice I found here in this thread I managed to get the DGEX to the ISS. Still not an easy task, and by no means could I do it hands free. But still, the advice here coupled with the manual got me where I need to be.
You guys rock.
