Falling with Style
I have identified this problem concerning the XR class of vessels (XR1, XR2, XR5) and the joystick calibration addon FlyByWire. I don't know if it has already been discovered or not, but wanted to bring it to the attention of all Orbinauts. I am using the joystick addon FlyByWire, to help calibrate deadzones and a hover axis. After I had finished setting up FBW, I went to the default Joystick tab in Orbiter Launchpad, and disabled the joystick. However, when I tried to use any XR vessel, I would get continuous error messages on the XR's screen, AF-CTRL OFF, and the voice telling me my atmospheric control surfaces were turned off. If I used external viev, I could see control surface animations, and could still control the ship, but the vessel would still keep displaying the error messages. If I turned the control surfaces on using the knob, it would stay on for a few seconds, then turn itself off again, and display the error message again. I solved the problem by going to Orbiter Launchpad and enabling the joystick, but with throttle off and deadzone set to 500. If I'm missing something, or just being an idiot, don't be afraid to reply and tell me!
