I have been running orbiter on my comp for the last two years, and trying with little success to dock with any space station, I would end up either using the DGIV or just opening the scenario editor and docking that way.
Tonight I am happy to say I have docked with the ISS after achieving LEO with the XR2, and no small thanks goes to all the people who have posted tips and videos on these forums. So thank you and hello from Wisconsin.

I should also tell a little bit about myself, I have been a space nut for as long as I can remember, I have watched every shuttle launch since 1990, and then I found NASA tv, and drive my family nuts the day of a launch because thats where the station stays :P.

Congratulations on your first successful docking!

After so many near misses I had to pause for a couple minutes when I hit 50 meters.

Congratulations. There's a nice sense of achievement that follows the first manual dock.

If you don't already have it, I recommend [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3165"]Attitude MFD V3.2[/ame] - it really helps, allowing you to "lock on" to the ISS and hold an attitude with respect to the station.

Congratulations. :)

Interplanetary flights are also very cool. Have you tried some?

Hi and welcome to Orbiter-Forum. Also congrats on your first successful docking!

Congrats and welcome from another Wisconsinite. :)

I have tried going to the moon a few times using the transfer MFD I hit it 3 out of 4 times and once in awhile actually hit it. :P
