The great State of Confusion
Hello all...I am trying to make my own scenario, basically starting with a DGIV on the runway at KSC, with a satelite loaded in the cargo bay for later deployment. Here is my problem...I am able to start the Scenario Editor, click on New, then choose a DGIV craft and name it. The name I chose then appears in the Scenario Editor at the bottom of various other craft. Ok, so far so good. I then load the satelite into the cargo bay of my glider and when done I Quicksave the whole thing and log out of Orbiter. I then go back, load my NEW scenario and voila, there is my DGIV sitting there just as I left it...now you may be asking, so where is the problem...well, here it comes...I want to check that the satelite is in fact loaded into the cargo bay so I open the bay doors...I then hit F1 to get an outside view of my craft and ...OH NO...it is not my craft, but it is in fact the GL-01. Sooooo, I go back to the Scenario Editor and sure enough, the GL-01 on the top of the list is highlighted. My NEW scenario is still there on the bottom of the list, so I click on that scenario and sure enough my DGIV again comes up. I go inside again to open the doors and lo and behold they are already opened...I am getting this feeling that my DGIV has morphed again into GL-01. Sure enough, I go outside again and there, sitting all smug and laughing at me is that darned GL-01. So there is my problem...I can load the editor, start a new scenario, put a ship into it, name it and quicksave it, but when I try to go outside or switch views it always goes back to the GL-01 default...How do I get the scenario to stay on MY craft so I can work with it?

Thank you all for the help and sorry for the long winded story. Maybe this will also help others who want to make their own scenarios.

:tiphat::cheers:

Quicksave saves an autonamed scenario in the 'Quicksaves' folder in Scenarios. Use the 'Save' button at the bottom of the scenario editor, or exit and select 'Save current' from the launchpad.

I think I misspoke. I did do a SAVE from the Editor, and it put my NEW scenario into a list at the top of the Scenario window in Orbiter, under the name I used to do the SAVE. So I am sorry, but I did do that already.

Thank you

your problem is the control focus, just because you have spawned the vessel, doesn't mean your control is shifted to that vessel. press F3 to get a list of every vessel in the scenario. select your DGIV, and press 'apply' or 'ok' or whatever it is (I don't really care). that will switch your control focus, and also which vessel the camera defaults to when you press F1
