Be sure to read the directions below before visiting the site -- the text on the puzzle is in Japanese. How old is your brain?

Procedure:
1.Press 'start'
2.Wait for 3, 2, 1 countdown
3.Quickly memorize the position of the numbers flashed on the screen, then click the circles in order from the location of the smallest number to that of the largest
number. Zero is the smaller number and 9 is the biggest.
4.At the end of game, the computer will tell you how old your brain is ...

OK. Let's delve into context here: I'm 21, apparently my brain score is 35. Now, I would consider that a good thing- as I'm operating with 14 extra years experience and knowledge. So, in my case, higher is better.

However, if you're 120 years old, the chances are your brain isn't working so well, you've probably forgotten most of the stuff you've learnt in school, and it's likely you're a bit senile/delirious. So it can't be a case of 'the higher, the better', can it?

Likewise with a 'younger' brain. If I'm 30, and my brain 'age' is 21, I'm worried that I'm apparently operating without 9 years of learning experience. So I would consider that a negative.

So surely the 'aim' of these tests is to have a brain the same age as you. But there seems to be a challenge in bringing the age of your brain down. Where's the scale? These kind of online 'test your brain/IQ' tests to me seem frivolous, and perhaps are only taken seriously by people who are not confident with their own intelligence.

Brain age and beer...

Wow. I'm 32 and drunken ATM... and made 27... now I've to wait 'till I'm sober to try again for a real nice experiment .

EDIT:

Ok, now I'm sober and made 22. Ergo: I lose 5 years if drunken from 5 beers, that's one year per beer. Starting with 22 I can drink 10 beers worth until my brain is as old as the rest of my body.

Now let me tell this to my wife...:leaving:

It's like one of those tests people have to do when they want to become an airline pilot or ATC controller. For example you hear 10 different numbers (pretty fast) and you have to remember and repeat them reversed. Almost unfeasible but they anyway just want to look at your behavior during such tests. Here in Germany it's usually done at the DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt / German Aerospace Center) which lasts two days.

But that little test above is rather funny. I tried it several times and got ages below my current age (29) and sometimes i got ages up to 40 and even more. So, yes, it's just a game ;)
