I'm back and my Orbiter is broken

Hello all,

First off... WOW, nice forum!!! Sure does beat the old one. What happened to the old one anyway?

So, after a long hiatus from Orbiter I am back.
Of course a bunch of people may be reading this now saying to themselves "Who the heck is this guy?"
I am nobody. Just an orbiteer like the rest

It's nice too see a lot of familiar names in the threads, looks like this is the official forum indeed.

Hopefully one of you old chums can help me out, my Orbiter(s) are broken.

There are several symptoms, they are:

1. The blue sky on Earth disappears shortly after sim start or is not there all together when I start Orbiter.

2. Spacecraft disappear and won't reappear unless zoomed out 100m or so.

3. The Sky blinks while on the ground.

My system is

Celeron Dual Core 2.68 mhz
2G DDR3 600mhz
Gforce 8600GT 512MB
Windows XP Home S2
Samsung 1600X1050 widescreen (SyncMaster2220wm

Ya, I thought it might be this old problem. I wonder how that happened cause these are all old installs. Theirs 6 of them and they all didn't work.

the black sky problem is nvidia driver related. You might have to downgrade the drivers to fix it..

Nice to see you again...I remembered when I took a leave of absence from Orbiter, not the community....I was without access to my home computer.:rofl: Yeah that was fun.

Being without a PC is the rat's ass. Mine puked a few months ago, and though it was replaced fairly quickly, key parts of the software that I used to make addons were not able to be transferred & until I could replace them, I just didn't have the heart to hang around here, but I'm baaaack....:woohoo:

AZ, nice to see you're back in town! Was wondrin' where you were.

The old forum is pretty much in limbo. Martins locked all the threads, but you can still browse it. If there's anything you don't want to lose over there, save it to a local file while you can, who knows how long it will be there.
