Hello, please excuse me if this is the wrong place for this thread as this is my first post. :)

I would take a spacecraft (be it the DeltaGlider or another imaginary one) into a geometric orbit and maybe drop off a TV satellite while I'm there. How would I do this? If you have a link to a tutorial or time for a good explanation that would be great.

Thanks,

MDSmith2

There is no geometric orbit. What you search is the geostationary orbit, which is a circular orbit (Ecc = 0) with an orbit period of 24 hours (86400 seconds) and no inclination (Inc = 0°, equatorial).

Just do a Hohmann maneuver to geostationary orbit, called GTO and change your inclination to 0° at the equator before circularizing your orbit.

If you launch into a polar (90 degree) orbit, your 3d track (with respect to the planet's surface) will end up looking like a sphere. That's probably the only geometric shape you can make with an orbit.

Well, you can of course make a circle, if you have an inclination of 0...

You can make an ellipse!

Or maybe he means he wants to fly a Geo Metro into orbit? That would be a GeoMetrical orbit, right? Ha, I kill me!
