Iv'e been trying to find the Mars l10 Textures buy Steph Eden, but it appears that that part of his website that has it, is down. Iv'e tried looking around the internet, but I can't find this addon anywhere.

Does anyone here know where I could get it from?

This page: http://stableit.org/torrent/landsat/ you could have easily found it by either searching or checking the "Addons" page by the way.

I checked but I couldn't find it there either.

EDIT

ok, I'm downloading it now. I didn't wan't to get into torrents, but I see that the website has direct downloads. Thanks!

Wow, it's gonna take around 8 hours to finish downloading...it must be pretty detailed.

Hmm... for some reason, after I installed it to my directory, it didn't change the Mars texture at all. Do I need to install another addon for this to work?

How close to Mars are you looking? I notice that in Orbiter 2010 at least, you need to get close to the planet before it switches to the higher resolution texture. So zoom in and see if it switches at all. You won't notice it if you can see the whole planet in the view. In my case, I was zoomed in so that I was looking at maybe 20% of the hemisphere pointed toward the camera before it switched. But I think I changed some of the LOD settings so it might be different for you.

Otherwise, check that the texture is in the right place (There should be a Textures2\Mars_tile.bin and Textures2\Mars_tile.tex) and that in Config\Mars.cfg, MaxPatchResolution = 10 (or higher).

In the Orbiter launchpad, go to the Visual Effects tab and check the Max resolution level. By default it is set to 8. If so, change this number to 10 and see if that makes a difference.

I was going to do that, but I saw that the Max resolution level was already at set at 10.

I did that too.

I also checked to see If I needed to get closer to Mars to change the texture. I even landed on it, but I could see no difference.

I can get Earth l10 texture to work, and it had a new file called "Earth.tex" that I used for the Earth textures. There was no new "Mars.tex" in the Mars l10 texture folder. Could that be what I need?

Warped, you also need Mars level 8. This will give you the Mars.tex. Though the readme says you don,t need level 9, believe me, you do need level 8. Kind regards, Ken.

Ohhh. Thanks! I'll do that when I get back and see what happens.
