Does anyone know of a good website that has the formulas to convert or actually knows the formulas to convert a julian date(or MJD) into a Gregorian calendar?
I have the formula all working for creating the Julian date from the Gregorian calendar including the time but I am having difficulty finding the math formulas that clearly show how to convert it back to a Gregorian calendar? For example
how can you get this > JD 2406842.812500 back to being Gregorian calendar. Not as easy getting it back to Gregorian as I thought.
Reading on wikopedia I get the impression I have to convert julian date to a julian day first but its seems very confusing and not sure if that is necessary.
Specifically extracting the hrs min and sec from .812500 in my example of julian day number.
thanks.
