Hi Folks,
Recently re-discovered orbiter.
Great!

On to the problem.

I replaced my old ATI Raedeon 1300x Pro VGA card with a MSI NVIDEA GEFORCE
210.

Obiter 2010p ran without a hitch with the old ATI card.

The problem is that when I start a scenario that starts on on the surface of a planet, in particular at Cape Canaveral, I get VERY corrupt graphics while the scenario loads, then orbiter crashes to desk top.

Scenarios that start in Earth orbit run fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris (A.K.A. "StukaMan").

is this the same install or a new install? If it's the same then it's a driver or configuration issue.

Yes, check what driver your card is currently using. You can and should download the latest Nvidia drivers from their download page - make sure you select the correct card and operating system. Microsoft's driver for the card is fine for basic use, but will not perform as well in games.

Hi Folks,
Updated the driver from the nvidea website upon installing the new card.
When the above mentioned problem started,I unistalled obiter 2010p and did a fresh install.
The problem persists. It only seems to effect sceanarios starting on the surface of the earth.Ones starting on Mars or the Moon present no problem.

Could it be a setting under the orbiter video options tab that is causing it?
Oh....
I failed to mention that I am running windows 7 ultimate as my OS.

Thanks,

Chris

Since you say you get a crash to desktop, Windows reports those errors to the Windows Event Viewer which should give you a clue where to look for the offending bad guy.

Double-check your Orbiter video settings and make sure that "Always enumerate devices" is checked and that "3D Device" is set to "Direct3D T&L HAL". Since you replaced the video card you may need to reset those settings.
