Hi,
I am writitng to the general forum because if you are Ok with 2010 you
probably are not looking at the bug tracking threads.

If you have an NVIDIA GeForce 6200 graphics card, run 2010 and have no MFD problems we'd like to talk with you. There are a group of us that find we have missing MFDs in 2010. Usually the virtual cockpit is Ok but the 2D\glass cockpits just have black MFDs with buttons. To be clear 2006P1
is Ok, its with 2010 & 2010P1 that there is an issue. In my case its a 6200 in an AGP port. I know, I know, its a bit old but as a secondary machine with 4 GB ram and XP SP3 its been pretty dependable. One that's been running Orbiter well for a long time.

If you have a 6200 and 2010 works for you can you please respond back..? We'd like to compare notes to see if we can resolve this problem.

It may be that we'll not find an answer and that a major system upgrade is necessary, but it would be a mistake to not check with the large talented
group that are Orbiter fans.

Thanks for your time and any suggestions...

Quick question. Does running Orbiter in windowed mode solve your problem?

Good point, thanks.
For me it makes no difference full screen or window mode, there are still problems.

Maybe a recent problem I've seen will help you. I had a GeForce4 Ti 4200, using XP SP3, running 2010P1 without problems concerning the MFDs. I say had, because the GPU cooling fan died rendering the card almost useless. Fortunately, my motherboard has an integrated GeForce2 which works with 2010P1, but exhibits the problem you describe with the MFDs. See following screen shots:

Just after scenario starts, with the sim paused:

After turning off "Pause", and before turning off - then on, "power" to left MFD:

After "cycling" power to left MFD - Before "cycling" power to right MFD:

Finally, after "cycling" power to the right MFD:

This problem is repeatable, and I've only seen it while using the virtual/glass cockpit.

It appears you're not the only one who needs to upgrade hardware, but in my case I'll have to upgrade everything on my PC since PCI Express is the new standard.

Not to hijack this thread, but recommendations for new hardware that is at least capable of running 2010P1 with decent frame rates are welcome.

Please make sure you are running the very latest video driver for your card (available from Nvidia here). My brand-new HP laptop running a GeForce GT 230M also had the transparent 2D panel items problem (this was using the latest HP-approved driver version, which is the driver that came pre-installed.) However, when I upgraded the video driver to the latest version it fixed the problem and Orbiter runs great now.

Newest drivers installed

Hi,
I have the newest Nvidia drivers installed and it has not made any difference..

Thanks..

MFDs are Ok..

MFDs are not Ok.

I installed the latest Orbiter beta release and my MFDs in 2D came back.

I tried restarting Orbiter 3-4 times and they looked good.

I stepped away from my PC and when I came back, restarted Orbiter with the beta and nothing..! No MFDs in 2D....

This is nuts...
