I've been mulling this over in my head for a while and thought this would be the best place to discuss it.
If or when sentient alien life is discovered (or should i say, confirmed?) how will the definition of a "person" or "people" change?
Will it refer to only Homo Sapien Sapiens, or will it expand to include similarly intelligent species? If you saw a grey walking down the street, would you say about it "Hey check out that person's shoes"? Would the reptilians be "a people"?
