hi its me again. whenever i am using orbiter, if i was increasing in altitude or decreasing it will pull the shuttle towards the little cross in a circle! this is really bad for me when i am landing because it causes the shuttle to point toward the floor even though i am trying to pull the shuttle up!

can anyone help me??

thanks

also thats not it!
if it does drag me back when im going to land i cant pull the nose up any further causing me to crash

please help its driving me crazy!:(

The cross in the circle is the velocity vector. That's where the vehicle will end up going. Pull up and there will be a little bit of lack as the nose comes up but the velocity vector is slight down.

The motion is normal for all planes. You need to keep the stick pulled as long as you want to have a change of the velocity vector.

Pulling up = increasing AOA = increasing Lift = accelerating upwards.

but the thing is it really bugs me as when i try to land i crash because i cant pull the nose up any further with it! so it is practicly impossible to land!

I can land the SSU (Which is much more touchy during aerodynamic flight than the normal Space Shuttle in Orbiter) single handed, with a Döner Kebab in the other hand.

Your problem is likely, that you need to practise more with the Deltaglider.

but ive been practicing with the delta glider too! it happens with all kind of craft!

Yes, but my initial assumption is, that you do it wrong.

How fast are you flying?

well i kill all main engines and initiate airbrake! leaving me with a low speed. so quite slow!

Slow is bad - if you don't have at least 120 m/s with the DG, you are far too slow, it is better to use 150 m/s. Spacecraft don't land like planes, you have around 20° flight path angle until shortly before landing.

Post a screen shot as well. I can land the Shuttle, DG and other aircraft. the trick I use is to have the nose up but the vel vector just below the --00-- line meaning I'm dropping just a little

Pulling up the nose will decrease your speed, making you fall short of the runway. You have to keep your speed up till you are just ready to cross the threshhold, then pull up gently to settle on the runway.

If you're coming in from space, make sure you have AF selected, not the RCS. The RCS is almost useless in an atmosphere. However, if you're landing on the moon, you need it: No air on the moon :P

if i use printscreen how do i get the picture inside the forum?

Save it as JPG and attach it to a post.
