R.I.P. Gerry Anderson

Sci-fi genius, he leaves us with lots of seminal and iconic work. I was mad keen on Space 1999 as a boy in the early 70s. I still have the Dinky Eagles. Pity he never had a word with Kubrick - imagine 2001 with Eagle Transporters...

RIP Gerry, thank you for all the hours of entertainment.

One of the reasons he brought Thunderbirds to the screen was because he wanted to do a show about helping people rather than defeating them and in that he scored a major success.

Awfull, he is the man who generated all UK animation .

N.

Creator of Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterions, and Space 1999. What an awesome talent.

RIP Mr Anderson.

And let us not forget UFO, Fireball XL5, Terrahawks, and Supercar.

Awwwwwww. Part of my childhood, he was, and my childhood was around three decades after some of that stuff first aired!
Happy memories of quietly sneaking on Thunderbirds VHSs when I was supposed to be doing homework...

To quote that BBC article, FAB indeed, Gerry.
