The Globus satellites operate in the geostationary YeSSS-2 Unified Satellite Communication System. The communication payload consists of "Tor" C-band and Ku-band transponders for communication with fixed and mobile platforms.
It can provide SHF and UHF uplink for mobile stations in most field conditions, including narrow mountain valleys. Together with Meridian series satellites that operate in Molniya orbits, Raduga (Globus) sats will provide a global coverage for Russian and allied military users.
