Hi,ive just installed Orbiter beta 111105 as recommended on this site
It fixes the problem with the mfd displays i had
i dont see it in modules at all as its supposed to be?(as run from ng.exe)
the Orbiter beta 111105 notes say to run the program from ng.exe not
orbiter exe but i cant see how run it(the commands dont do anything but bring up the little gui)although it seems to run fine from orbiter exe?

can i run safely from orbiter exe?
I dont want to damage the external drive orbiter is on in any way as it has a lot of other work on it although i have 100 gb of space if i need to run 2 installations say

ideas anyone?
thanks:tiphat:

You only run "ng" version if you want to use external graphics client. You just run orbiter.exe like you ran it for Orbiter 100830, if you don't want to download, install and use any external graphics client.

Anyway, for your graphics card only the D3D7Client would be usable, which is the same as the built-in graphics client used when you run orbiter.exe.

Where in the notes is stated that you need to run the orbiter_ng.exe instead of orbiter.exe to launch Orbiter?

Ok, here it goes...........ready...............steady...............

Hi Ripley thanks, sorry too be a nuisance,do i assume i can safely run from orbiter exe?seems to work great, apart from a couple of new addons(i can run another install easy enough for now).

It said run graphics client from ng.exe i think,so if im not using one i can run
from orbiter exe no problem?

Sorry admin,i read it twice before i saw it and then misunderstood it.

Thanks again Ripley.
Thanks both for for assist :tiphat:

Yeah, that's right.

You run orbiter.exe if you don't use external graphics client, and orbiter_ng.exe if you want to use an external graphics client with it.

Ok thanks, ill have a good look through the forums and pickup as much as i can nd get up
to speed with the graphic tech stuff. Thanks for you,re help.
