Hi all!

This is my first post, so I hope I don't annoy the community by asking anything too stupid... So then:

I've used my X52 for years now on the previous versions of Orbiter, but having downloaded the latest 2010 version I can't get the slider control on my throttle to control the Retro Thrusters. This is extremely useful, and I'd love to hear there is a way for me to get that functionality back.

Everything else I got assigned, just this last hurdle now...

Any ideas? Anyone? Cheers all.

I have the same joystick, [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3223"]FlyByWire[/ame] is what I use.
Not sure what you did to get retro axis, did you forget you had this?

If you had your Retro thrusters maped to a joystick axis, you most definitaley used FlyByWire. The basic orbiter joystick support doesn't provide that functionality, not in the 2006 version and neither in the 2010 version.

Thanks guys. Jeridia you are indeed right: I do have FlyByWire active in Orbiter_2006, so I guess my question is simple: can FlyByWire's latest version still be used in Orbiter_2010?

Cheers!

i think it does work... not sure though... can anyone confirm?

i don't use FBW... i use a WIP directinput module which i'm developing on the sides, so it can work with my rudder pedals as well as my x52

i'll see to upload the latest state of this project when i get home later today... i think the available version is the one that completely overrides the POV controls... the one i have at home now uses keyboard injection for compatibility with the way the POV is supposed to behave by default (with the center-snap and angle detents)

it still doesn't support button mappings.... but with an X52 you can surely get around that :hmm:

Moach, you are IT man:hail:. If I understand correctly you need to tinker with the POV controls, but that otherwise you have got a leg over the FlyByWire concept: EXXXXXCELENT! I think I'll patiently wait for news on that update before changing anything... Thanks for the heads-up dude!

anytime! - i'm just another happy X52 owner who ran impatient and happened to know C++
