OHM Soyuz 7K series

@4throck
Yes, i understand, that the implementing of more complex functions needs dll coding.
About the VC's - please, correct the MFD displaying angles and IMHO it will be good. And add sound of course :) - in *.ini files there are "linked" some ambient sounds but there aren't in addon archive. I think that are the Sven's sounds...
Is there any possibility (in spacecraft3 ofcors) to hear the launch sound inside VC?
Fuel amount - yesterday I tried with it - I think that the 800 (instead of 500) will be sufficient for the required orbital operations.
Some scn's needed corection - especially "soyuz-soyuz" rendezvous - RInc after insertion again is too big.
Maybe some mesh animations...?
You're doing very good job. Keep warm.

diogom, if you check the meshes uploaded originally by castor, you will see the complete spacecraft there :).

But it would be like going backwards, because what we have in reality are 3 spacecraft with different characteristics. As it is you can tweak the reentry module aerodynamic parameters just in one place, without having the change anything else...
Also, Castor has mentioned that the separate meshes were done because there was as attempt to custom code the 7K. So by using them were are possibly contributing to a better implementation in the future. If someone wants to program it, the research and basic setup is all there.

But of course, if you come up with some alternate implementation, I'd be more than happy to include it on the addon :)

And thanks for trying the converter... I'm not surprised that it didn't work, because Orbiter shipyard also never worked on my PC... but there was hope!

Przemek77, yes, the VC is not perfect and I'll correct it. Some guess work on getting the right perspective but I'll do it when possible.

As for sounds yes, they are configured for Sven's stuff. But we don't have permission. What you can do is go the his site, download the sounds and convert them. Then place them in the directory indicated on the ini files.
You can do this privately (private use), no problem there. Only public redistribution (on the addon) is not possible without permission.

As for launch sounds, as I said, it's just the way it is handled by Orbiter. You only hear the sound produced by the spacecraft you have selected. Actually, you only hear the 7K engine if you have the service module selected...

OK, hour ago I downloaded and converted to wav all that sound files. Yes, most of this are recorded by Sven personally - and permission will be needed.
For personal use I think of more ambient (radio) sounds in VC - combination of Sven files and my downloaded russian audio packs... may be interresting.

VC IMHO is very good - you have to repair that MFD angles and all will be OK.
In my previous posts I write of a "center placed vizor". Huh, yes, centered vizor is in new generations of Soyuz - in 7K periscope is placed not far to the right... my mistake ;)

My attempts so far haven't been good. I set the BO as the PAO's 1st payload, the SA as the 2nd, and thermal covers, etc, as 3rd, but I only got either just the PAO with the thermal covers, no SA; or the PAO and SA, without BO. It may be the hoped result for a Zond, but it seems I'll need many hours figuring it out (probably to find out, when it's done, that it was actualy simple ).

Przemek77, thanks for the fuel suggestion, I wasn't able to test rendezvous with Salyut 6, because I can fly to the freakin' moon, but can't rendezvous at altitudes lower than ISS ones. But I'll try it.
BTW, the Salyut 6 is now on a much better orbital inc, thanks for these scns.

I tried docking with CameraMFD. Very poor FPS in VC... :(

@4throck:

I found THIS in Soyuz 7K-OKS. I think this is a cable device from soyuz mesh.

You took the screenshot during launch, right? I'll check if it happens with me too.
BTW, an answer from Sven should hopefully come today or tomorrow. Yesterday he asked my email so he could reply.

Yeah, its during launch.

It will be great.
I corrected again ALL rendezvous scenarios. In monday or tuesday I post it on forum.

Ah, i found another bug (?): in Soyuz 10 to Salyut 1 scn when I select DockMFD and docking target - there is no possibility to accept it. I pressing enter and target is no confirm, target window is still on screen.

There's no IDS frequency, that's what you mean? A little trick: open scn editor with focus on the Salyut 1, click the "Docking" button and, on the upper right portion of the window, (this is from memory, so it may no be 100% accurate) check the little box next to the IDS freq. and change it (to anything you want). You can then select it on the ComNav MFD, the Docking MFD should have the Salyut 1's docking port as target.

I added IDS frequency, and.... when I try to quickload - there is CTD.... :(

CTD is occured ONLY with this Soyuz-10 scenario.

And this is pack of corrected scn's for Soyuz-Salyut and Soyuz-Soyuz rendezvous launches.

Just to let you know that I'm working on the VC MFDs .

3D model export is not simple, and I have to correct for scale, axis orientation and origin.
The main trouble is that MeshWizard is corrupting the mesh each time I correct the orientation...

But I'm working on it!

In the mean time, thanks all for your effort. The sounds are great  and I'm sure that the new situation corrections will improve the addon.

A question to all (but specially Diogom): should I merge the sounds with the main addon?

IMO, yes.

PS: Little suggestion, when updating the addon, include in the description at OH what was changed. Someone who doesn't visit the Forum won't know it was updated.

Another bug - deploying solar panels in 7K-T-AF is veeery sloooowlyyyyyy :) Much, much, much slower than the rest of soyuz variants (~20x times slower).

With Salyut-1 is something strange. After insertion, align, sync orbit blah, blah, blah - whe I turn on the DockMFD and try to select dock 1 - there is no possibility to select this dock. When I enter scn editor and add IDS frq - docking data appeared on MFD and docking is possible. When I quit, open last state scn file copy and paste dock data in launch scn - nothing changes and I can't select dock again.

Wow, I see that the sound pack is now released... :) Thanks.
I have another mini-addon - some new correction to the scenarios and some new scenarios - mainly from the INTERKOSMOS program. I post it on a forum and on OH.

Here's the best I was able to do regarding the VC:

Przemek77, do you want to keep you scenario pack as a separate addon or do I merge it with the main addon ? Perhaps it should remain separate for now and be merged at a latter time? It is your work, so whatever you decide is fine!

Good work!

If you want to merge my scn's with your addon - be my guest :)
Is better that it will be a ONE archive in my opinion - addon + scenario pack. When you upload new version on OH (with my scn's) - I wili delete it from site.

I'm working on a launch scenario for the Salyut 1. Most of the work is done, and it still hasn't been released because of a slight problem in the autopilot. But I should upload it here within the hour.

Here it is. After the second stage jettisons, you must take manual control, because the autopilot can't get the station into orbit, at least in my pc. It's probably because it was designed for O2006, and not O2010P1.
Requires http://www.orbiterfrancophone.com/index.php?disp=addons&id=31, and the zip I uploaded includes, besides the scn, texures and meshes to give it an "old look".

I'm updating the 7K addon on OH with the VC fix, sounds and scenarios.

I suggest that the individual downloads for sounds and scenarios should be left on OH for a while, but mentioning on the description that they are now part of the "main" Soyuz 7K addon.

Very nice! I do like it, although the solar panels and antenas are immediately extended after the fairing is jettisoned.
You can fix this by creating a second mesh with those parts retracted and swapping after the last stage has burned completely.

But it is a nice work and I like that proton a lot ;)

I think that this might be an addon on it's own. I sugest that all the Salyut missions, including the Salyut 1 launch and Salyut 6 situations are moved to a "Salyut launch & missions" add-on.

Fine by me. I'll try to have it done soon, while I have the time.

Edit: not sure if I can do that Salyut 1 solar panels thing. I'll see what I can do.

Edit2: Ok, I really need to get into coding and modelling. I never had more than one day of learning in both of 'em. And its pissing me off. I must put the "too hard" thoughts away. That could greatly improve this addon.

I deleted my scenario pack from OrbitHangar. From now, the scenarios are available only with updated 4throck's "Soyuz7K series" addon.

Ok! What we can do now is to use the same strategy for future developments. If someone makes another update, please upload it to OH. At some future time it will be merged with the main addon.
This way you are not limited by my personal schedule and can develop at your pace. At the same time we avoid having multiple versions and patches of the same addon.

Diogo, the easier way to solve the solar panel problem is to simply delete them from the mesh ! You just find the appropriate groups and remove them. After launch you switch the model to the one you are currently using. Not perfect but simpler than messing with animations.
