Vessel Space Exploration Vehicle

Well I haven't any good images of those gold arms to see how they work.. Most images of the MMSev just show the 2 arms. We have :
option1 :have them there and just static.

option 2 :Have them just animate but no attach (I can't seem to get the attachment tip correct)

So what do you all think?

One thing with the stow part I can get the arms to stow. But it goes thru the hull. It basically moves from its current position to its start position. Because of it position on the sides it might go thru the hull getting to the start position.
 
Ok this is what I have so far. I might add a VC of a flat panel of the front.

This a great addon Gattispilot,but is there anyway to transfer a UMMU to a docked ship,instead of having to EVA all the time?Thanks
 
OK. It has been suggested to make the mmsev like this. Where the mmsev sits in a rover base.

So I took the LER base and fit it to the MMSEV. But it looks like the MMSEV is too wide.

Any ideas? With the U.S. government shut down the NASA website is shut down. I don't think they had dimension either. Mine was based off certain sizes like the docking ring and ummus.

here is what I have.:

this is a straight drop of the MMSEV onto a rover base. The issues is the middle wheel hits the docking ring. So you have to raise the MMSEV up of move the the middle wheel or move the MMSEV back
This is it with a wider rover base. and raised up. But it looks too wide.

Thanks. I forgot about that. I think it would be difficult to drive the LER from the MMSEV. Not even sure there is interest in back it a universal ship with a LER platform
 
Wow! I didn't even know this vehicle was going on! Good job gattispilot. I, personally, think that the MMSEV should be both in space and on ground configured, so that the user can do one or the other. Are you still doing this project?
 
Not really. I never got a feel or of how it would work. I am working on a LER chariot. So the habitat section could be a separate part.

I might start it back.

Not sure if anyone would want it, though?
 
So reading the info on this. It looks like the are 2 different vessels rather than 1. A space version and a surface version.

It might be possible to add rcs thrusters to that one and make it both.

But does any one want that?
 
Sounds great Gattispilot,pls start creating it,and can you please make the next update have the mesh that I've shown you?

I think I easily make into a mesh but it has no interior,...
I may need to redo it also to fix things
 
I think I can make it driveable like the LER. But since the .obj is 1 meshgroup it would need to be redone for the 6 wheels to roll and rotate,....
 
Quick and dirty solution:
You can load 2 meshes in code. Delete the wheels from the existing one, add a second mesh (why not yours?) with animation groups and target those.

A rover for Orbiter 2016 is a must have add-on.
I'm interested, even if no VC and no EVAs.

Just make the handling realistic (should tumble if on a too steep slope, etc).

I made my LER in 2016 but it sinks in the mesh.

I make take the obj and make groups
