It is. I believe SC found that the ET tex swap code wasn't as I suspected not being called and therefore it didn't work. So, just make sure that the code is being called and it probably will work.

Oh I thought SC already changed this and fixed the problem, so you saw it change in a test. Then it is just probably possible.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

Well, that is exactly what he fixed. It works 100% of the time now.

Checked in an updated Orbiter.msh from Donamy and also an early Columbia texture that was applicable for her first 6 missions(STS-1,2,3,4,5 and 9).

Maybe this parameter could replace the WING_NAME parameter? As now we can specify the name of the orbiter directly in the texture file.

Sure, but then I would recommend also getting a paint kit done for people who are not so historically aligned. ;)

Options for implementing the parameter:

  • In the scenario file - I don't like it much (as it is not related to the state of the vessel)
  • In the still not finished mission file - would be fitting better, but not done yet
  • In the configuration file. Would mean we have many configuration files to choose from, but would provide a good compromise between the flexibility of the mission file and the possibility of getting done soon.

I vote for soon :)

We also need a white tank for STS-1 and 2

I'd go with the mission file option. It needs to be done anyway.

Hmm, I'll look at it. maybe I can do something fast by not touching something from the existing code with the first generation mission file.

The SRB sep motor exaust, fires in the wrong direction, as it is now, it doesn't impact the ET intertank.

I've checked in code for the rotary switch animations. There seems to be a bug with the animations which causes the switch to shrink when the switch state is loaded from the scenario; I'm not sure why this is happening.

Just an update from my end on LC-39A: I'm right now finishing up the release version of the FSS. Some old issues have been fixed, mainly with the GOX Vent Hood. Right ow adding the redone dock seals.

Also looking at redoing the White Room as it has a few issues that needs tiding up.

---------- Post added at 08:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:09 AM ----------

I decided to take a break from the FSS and do something else but related: place out OTV cameras at their correct locations at 39A. So far the cameras placed are:

  • OTV-030
  • OTV-031
  • OTV-032
  • OTV-033
  • OTV-041
  • OTV-045
  • OTV-060
  • OTV-070
  • OTV-071
Dpes anyone want me to check in the OTV cam mesh, config files and a scenario with them? I have checked and view from them are damn close to the views from the real ones. Very close. They're individual vessels and pure config file vessels, no external dependacies.

I've checked in code so the LED displays accurately show the RMS joint angles. At the moment, only the TEST and JOINT ANGLE parameters are correctly displayed on the LEDs.

That sounds cool.

When are we actually going to release this version? As far as I know, all the major bugs have been fixed.

Well, there's one last major question before a release: How are we going to distribute the new version? It's fairly major, even without the sources.

Also, are we going to include Kukanotas' high-res KSC? If we ask, I don't think he has a problem with us including it.

May I make a suggestion,

How about torrent? That way everyone downloading can be uploading as well and it would not require a lot of bandwidth from OH.

Edit:
How big is the file(s)?

Would simply putting it on OH work?

I was talking to DaveS about the same thing. Seems a shame to be developing this for 4 people. Although I found one little bug, I can't open the RMSpower button guard.

Not really a bug. Until we have a proper EPS implementing that one doesn't make much sense.

Exactly. So far I have only done a very simple AC system, still about 99% of the EPS missing.

Currently open tasks on my side:
- Mission files (still not done, will get it finished over night)
- finish the math in the AC motor class.
