TI Graphing Calculator Tips

Alright, so my friends taught me a way to solve 3-variable equations (x,y,z), using a matrix. Are there any other easy tricks to do things? I don't know why my teacher didn't tell me about this. I'm in Honors Algebra II, so are there any hints for that class as well? One more question

What's the equation, in slope intercept form, for a CIRCLE?

y=sqrt(x^2+R^2) upper half
y=-sqrt(x^2+R^2) lower half

just enter a number where "R" is.
