Songs to listen to while flying

Depends on my mood & what I'm flying. Anything from Tubular Bells II & III (Mike Oldfield) to Disturbed & Metallica. Only things off limits are Country & Rap...but my kids tell me I'm old anyway :headbang:

"I'll be back" to this thread...

There's a lot of music here I haven't heard before.

Gustav Holst " The Planets "

For Earth " I believe " by Joseph "Joe" Satriani

"Satch" is probably the most innovative guitar player I've heard in the last 25 years.

But being a musician myself, I can't listen to him while I'm flying Orbiter. I end up paying too much attention to what he's doing and not enough to what I'm doing. You know how that usually ends...

"I Believe" is one of the few pieces he actually sings in. I too have trouble keeping my hands still when listening to him.

Stanley Jordan is phenomenal as well.

Moby is a really good musician to listen to while flying, specifically "We Are All Made of Stars" and "Porcelain".

And don't forget "God Moving Over the Face of Waters". Comes in really good when landing on a body without atmosphere.

I scanned all 18 pages and didn't see any mention of Angels & Airwaves

One song that I can't get enough from while driving my car...and thus also a pretty good Orbiter song:

Nice song when doing some on orbit assembly

On 18th May Voivod is giving a concert in Riga, hope I will have time to go and see them.

These are all in my playlist:

(I have the first season soundtrack for BSG.)

(Not sure how I find these things...)

The most epic of BSG tunes could be --

and then --

Despite being of 1500's Hindu origin, the Sitar is a such a spacey sounding instrument, don't you think?

These clips from YouTube loose a lot of nuances from the strings with the low-bit encoding. You should at least seek a 320k or lossless version and judge from that.

English Heavy Metal band Saxon has some songs that fit perfectly with Orbiter.

And this is a song I will definately play when I will take the new XR2 MkII for a spin first time.

Some songs to listen to while flying in Orbiter Multiplayer ;)
(or any aircraft/air combat simulation for that matter)

Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone

Sabaton - Aces in Exile

Riggs - Radar Rider

And a bit slower one for cruising around
Don Felder - Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride)

I also got a necropost warning, hope noone notices :shifty:

Recently re-discovered in the cellar: Rainbow's Stargazer and Starstruck (it's not about spaceflight but the songs are quite nice, with Dio's vocal talents).

Especially while flying an American craft, this always seems to sound good after a successful landing on another body.

This also sounds good after landings, especially in Roscomos/Soviet vehicles.

god, get me some CREEDENCE!!! *sings bad moon rising*
